At least you’ll still have the cup holder lights to look forward to. ?Just told it might ship from the rail yard to here on Feb 27. Wow is all I’m gonna say. Fords gonna have info out on the 2023’s before my 2021 comes in.
I ain’t got nothing to look forward to as I ain’t got anything. Don’t even think the xlt 302a comes with them anyway. At least you’ll still have the cup holder lights to look forward to. ?
Good point. Well, I’ve had my Lariat for 3 weeks and 300 miles and right at this moment I’m at the dealer waiting in the lounge as they take a look at my coolant leak (probably the heat exchanger which means a new backordered part). 50% chance I go home in a loaner car. Fun times. Update: Make that 100%. I'm now the proud loaner of a Ford Ranger for God knows how long.I ain’t got nothing to look forward to as I ain’t got anything. I realize the rust issue is common, but that doesn't make it acceptable. My truck was built 2 months ago; it shouldn't have this much rust. My purpose of posting the picture was to let @Truck21 I had the issue as well. Judging by what I've read on the forum, Ford will not address or offer any resolution to this rust issue. My plan is to remove the rust myself and cover with some flat black paint. This doesn't seem to be a rare occurrence. Ford Motor has an official account here and monitors the site. They need to jump in this thread and the powerboost heat exchanger coolant leak issue.
Forgive my ignorance, but why would a truck built only two months ago have any rust at all, unless it's sitting out in harsh weather for that long. I don't know much about the coolant leak issue. Hopefully that's an isolated issue, but I'll check mine here shortly and also await the responses here.

Just got back from the dealer. They won't let me drive it home. They put it on the rack and confirmed the leak. They are ordering parts and I have no idea what the wait will be. They aren't even taking any new service appointments until April but my sales rep made sure they took me now since I just bought it. They gave me a Ford Ranger loaner for a week but I might have to bring that back because someone is buying it? So glad I kept my 1997 Nissan King Cab XE. Only 137,000 on it and still runs like a champ. ?it's leaking from engine loop so large reservoir will need filling. My dealer gave me this to fill it.![]()
Yeah, rust on the differential, axle, leaf springs, frame, exhaust for me. Neither the dealership nor Ford care. The response from the "official" account on here seemed promising, but then quickly became a joke; they couldn't care less about helping get the issue resolved. Hope you have better luck than I did.I got the same rusty drivetrain. Given Ford's position on it I guess the best move currently is to just photo-document it ASAP and if something rusts through 100 miles past warranty try raising hell.
Also just a reminder to check your fuses. About 75% of mine and 1 of the relays were very poorly seated and needed a little push.
The official account gave you a glimmer of when in fact all they do is copy and paste from a script.Yeah, rust on the differential, axle, leaf springs, frame, exhaust for me. Yeah, imagine my surprise when I received a phone call (which was not my preferred method of contact) about "a problem with my rims"...The official account gave you a glimmer of when in fact all they do is copy and paste from a script.
I have a Denim Blue Y2K XE with 101,000 miles. It looks new. Only problem was an exploding rubber bumper on the brake light switch. What a faithful friend this thing has been.So glad I kept my 1997 Nissan King Cab XE. Only 137,000 on it and still runs like a champ. ?
3.5 EB in mine too. What did everyone average first tank of fuel? I averaged 15.5 3.5 ecoboost. A lot of idle time though on the first tank.
