I have sent them a message on FB about how they really need to do a better job of communicating but I had not given them any real info on my dealer or my order. No, the letter was sent to my dealer and then given to me. It looks like a pretty canned response as they keep mentioning the F-Series Truck instead of the F-150 order so I assume a lot of people will be getting the same response soon if they have not already.
It may be a canned response letter the dealer has and they are alloted a certain amount they can give out to help soothe customers they are wanting to keep.

BUT...a $100 card won't hardly fill my gas tank......

Curious as to why there is this concern, do ordering practices and consumer protection differ that much between the US and Canada?

When I purchase a vehicle, there is a signed contract with an agreed upon price. I have never been told that they couldn't honor that price when the vehicle arrives. Do folks actually go to pickup their vehicle and be told they owe more than originally signed for or are folks just worried for nothing.
Chris, I cant give you a “legal” answer on signing a contract but I can tell you what I‘ve experienced. First things first, let me state clearly that my truck has yet to come in and is stuck on the 10/31 date. I’m only sharing what I’m experiencing to date. Again, the truck is not in so nothing is final. In my lifetime (68yrs old) I’ve ordered 5 vehicles from 5 different dealerships. In all 5 of the orders, I negotiated a price & then ordered my vehicle. Even though I offered & expected to put money down, 4 of the 5 times I ordered I was told not to worry about putting money down or signing a contract. In all 5 orders everything went through without a glitch. However...This time, my dealer has this month (June) informed me because of the supply shortage they WILL NOT be honoring our price negotiated in early March. They now are telling me they will be wanting sticker ++$. of course I’m adamant that I WILL NOT be paying window sticker ++$ but the dealer is clear. They don’t care if I refuse, they’ll just sell it to someone else. Sadly, my guess this has been their intent all along. Dealers in the last couple months can’t order inventory but they can special order for the individual. Hummm? My guess is I won’t be getting my 20121 Lariat. If things don’t work out I’m gonna order a 22 Lariat from a different out of town dealer. My point is this. Was I wrong to not sign a contract? Yes. But 5 previous times it was a non issue. I can see why some people ordered a vehicle & did not sign a contract. My biggest mistake wasn’t failing to sign a contract, my biggest mistake was picking the wrong dealer. Tough times doesn’t develop character, it exposes it!

Sorry to hear this, you are not the first I have heard this from. My dealer fully honored our deal on the first one and I expect them to do the same when my son's comes in. As they put it they are "playing the long game" vs short-term profits. I know that there are dealers in my area not honoring the original deal and charging a $5k "convenience fee" or "market adjustment" above MSRP even on previously negotiated deals on orders.

Congrats! Mine released yesterday with a 7/26 ETA, ordered Jan 25 so it's Christmas in July for me! Doesn't say shipped yet, based on your experience I guess it might be today or tomorrow (but I'd only find out on Friday after Canada Day).

Hi sorry to hear about this,if it was me in that position I’d take a nice photo of myself in front of my new Silverado and post it to jim Farleys Twitter account along with my story…

My tracker just updated this afternoon to this ….. maybe it’s true, who knows. Excited to get it, but also aggravated by the 6mo lead time on it.

Seems like things are moving. Tracking tool updated to 8/4/21 ETA yesterday, and last night updated to reflect as “built” on 6/30/21. Hopefully this is legit and I actually get my truck in August ….. maybe July!

And we can expect new order delays. Ford announced today more bad news for July production being reduced by more then half for half a dozen plants across the US

here is the release. https://www.spglobal.com/platts/en/...hes-july-production-on-semiconductor-shortage
Sorry, I don't feel bad about new order delays. Many of us in the 10/31 club have been waiting 6 months or more for our trucks. If they are going to slow down the lines to complete our trucks like the article says, it's about time.
