09/19/22 Build Week -- Final Delivery

I've been "in transit" for almost two weeks now but no convoy information still.

Is that normal? It said ETA to granger was 10/7-10/13. Seems kinda weird there's no convoy information at all.

Where is your truck now? The Dearborn trucks were flying to Granger just a few days before your build.

I'm a week behind you with the same travel path. Was convoyed from ramp 59 to ramp 58 on Tuesday, and have been waiting on a railcar since.

I've got no info at all. Tracker says "in transit" since 9/26. Email said in transit with an ETA of 10/7-10/13. Tracker shows no info on convoy tho. I'm def convoy though (shows on the window sticker)

It is a bit confusing, but convoy on the sticker just means out of the plant. I read somewhere (article and comment) that anything over 500 miles is done by rail. When you have time, I'd suggest getting a VVR from Granger or jumping on chat to see if you have a railcar number. You can then track that via the rail carriers.

For Granger, you should convoy from ramp 59 (Dearborn plant) to ramp 58 (Norfolk Southern yard in Melvindale, MI), then railcar to ramp 6P (Kansas City), from there its a convoy up to the dealer.

Someone feel free to correct me if you've seen different, this is just me compiling the information I've gathered.

Ford chat said that my truck in on "chip hold" with an estimated release date of October 17. Another poster recently mentioned that "chip hold" is the generic term they currently use for any kind of part hold.

I spoke with my neighbor/dealer this weekend. With being able to start the activation in FordPass and the status I had thought my was all set. He said my vin was one a few that he got notice for that was waiting on a chip or part. So, tracker shows it's built but it still is waiting on something. He's going to see if he can find an ETA for when they expect to release it for shipping.

Good deal! FWIW, it's a pretty short train ride. Mine shipped out Friday night and arrived in Kansas City Sunday around noon. I think it's still waiting to be offloaded.

I'll update when it gets to the dealer so you know what to expect for the last convoy leg. I don't know how mine got on an earlier train than yours.

On the ford vehicle order site my built box check mark went away and it changed from shipped to in production. I still think it is just parked somewhere waiting on parts. Fingers crossed that the status change might lead to those parts being installed.
It is kind of a sad note but I realized I have memorized my order and vin numbers just from typing them into the status sites.

Mine did that, too. It said shipped when they moved it from whatever lot and went back to built/awaiting shipping after they unloaded it at ramp 58. Later that day it went back to shipped and I actually received the email.

Not to be a Debbie Downer in here but for guys like @PMMePizza and @Moe7 that seem like you’re reaching the finish line, I’m from the 5/30 build week and STILL waiting on my truck to arrive at Granger. Mine was “shipped” July 22nd from Dearborn and arrived in KC by rail July 26th. According to the dealer mine is still at ramp 6P in KC just waiting for a truck to take it the last 2 hours north. So don’t get your hopes up quite yet, but I really hope y’all get them sooner rather than later.

Curious, when you got your original "shipped" email, what did it say? I.e. did it say it shipped on 07/26 and would be arriving at the dealer on a reasonable date like 08/05? Or was it always supposed to be this delayed? (I note that it now says 10/7-10/13, which is the exact range mine has)

I have kept ALL the emails from Ford and my dealer. The VVR showed it shipped July 22nd but I didn’t get an email from Ford until Aug 2nd stating as such. The date the email gave me was 8/2-8/8. Since then I have received 4 more email saying they “require additional time to ensure my complete satisfaction and my new date is…”
The 10/7-10/13 is just the latest number they have come up with. So to answer your question, yes the times were reasonable but they sure haven’t hit one yet ?

Yikes, I'll be cautiously optimistic. I was sitting at 6P as of this morning, so we'll see how the next 2-3 days play out. Hopefully they scoop several of us up on the way.
