I will be pissed if its not like the pics on the tracker and when initially built the truck on Fords website in January. I got the SAP to avoid chrome. I was pissed that it still has the chrome exhaust tip
Yeah I would be also. Hate the chrome

Prepare to be pissed off then as they will be chrome. Look back a few pages at my Atlas Blue Sport package that came in with chrome tow mirrors. I'm picking it up on Wednesday...

Chapman called me about an hour ago and my truck is in. They seem to think I'm eligible for 0% financing from ordering in 2021 but I'm a little skeptical about that. They don't have any of the numbers ready yet but I'll update when I get them. I talked to Raleigh who sounds like a super nice guy on the phone, he went out and took a few pictures for me.

I was hoping the tow mirrors would be body color. No such luck...

No, they are not going to change it. I saw the 21s that had chrome mirrors and even though the renderings show black it states right there that it's not going to be exactly as pictured. If it really bothers me I'll look at changing out he caps to black but I doubt I'll even notice.

My truck has made it to Kansas City, which according to Ford chat is the final stop before delivery to my dealership. Still tracking to 7/2-7/8 delivery. I asked the rep how much I needed to venmo them to get priority loading but they disconnected the chat without answering. ?

I love my truck. I installed the wheel well liners, it makes a massive difference ito the black and white look, my Bakflip cover is on too. I have an appointment next week Monday for some ceramic tinting, and I still need to install the black lug nuts. (In the meantime I hit my main water line installing irrigation, so I'm spending my free time there trying to get that back to a long term solution state, instead of the hack-job I did at 7pm last night, so no time to swoon over a new truck this week.)

What I will add though is
  • I drove 10 hours over two days from VA to GA. Bluecruise is amazing. A little bit nerve wrecking initially. I feel much more comfortable with it on open roads with no construction. There were a few sections with the concrete barriers to the left and the shoulder was non-existent, those were scary parts but I had my hands on the wheels then.
  • Lane-keeping assist/co-pilot assist activates in the city too when you enable it together with cruise control. It's much less reliable than bluecruise on open roads, but the paint lines in the city is much less reliable(intermittent) too, so I guess it makes sense.
  • Even without co-pilot assist, there is some minor lane keeping assist option enabled. You can feel the steering wheel tugging you into the lane at times. I find that pretty useful, this is NOT a handsfree setting. I need to dig more into that and see what exactly that is.
  • I've never had a truck before, so the longer wheelbase, larger turning circle and reversing is a new challenge. I'm getting better.
  • I cut in front of a smaller car at speed while driving home, and the trucks sensors did not warn me. The BLIS light was on but not noticed at speed and the quick movement. Was fully my mistake, no problem there, but I would have thought there should be some more serious beeping on the trucks part, maybe it's a setting.
  • I bought forscan tool so that I can disable fake engine noise and backup beep. Not even close to doing that yet.
  • The ventilated seats are very noisy. If you set it to maximum it sounds like the window is slightly open. The lower the setting goes the less noisy, until off then the interior is extremely quiet.

You will have chrome mirrors. Says right in the description of ordering.

Thats definitely what it shows now, but thats not how it was in January when I ordered. I was very specific about chrome delete when ordering, I would have noticed those chrome caps on the half dozed vehicles I built on the Ford site. My pictures on the tracker don't show chrome either. Ill have my dealer remove the chrome and install the black caps, they are available for 50 bucks, so not a big deal, just annoying.
There was a period of time where the tow mirrors were removed from the Ford build site, they definitely had constraints with them at some point between me ordering and getting my build date.

Apparently just attempting a bribe was the secret because I got a FaceTime from my salesman this morning and my truck is on the ground! They have to do their post delivery inspection but it should be mine before sundown.
