I spoke with a senior person at Ford today (I'm not name dropping, but this individual knows all the gremlins intimately). He told me Ford is having a hell of a time with the railroads and getting things loaded and unloaded in a timely manner.

My dealer is out today, so I message the Sales Manager, he says my truck just arrived, yet to see proof of life. I thought it was weird that suddenly I was able to activate it on fordPass.

Bad news is I just canceled my tickets flight tickets late last night for tomorrow morning. No I have to buy new ones. I guess I'm not complaining, going to see how I can get it done!

Must be a Chapman thing, my dealer has showed 0 interest in getting me any information. I will make sure I use another dealership to order my wifes explorer replacement that is for sure.

To say Ashlie is indifferent would be an understatement. I get that they are high volume, but a modicum of helpfulness would be nice. More Costco, less BJ's.

I'll post about my particular situation after this is all said and done, but I will simply say that Ford Corporate has made us Ford customers for life, but Chapman of Horsham is unlikely to get my business again. I have a little bit of leverage with them and I'll aim to deal directly with the Sales Manager tomorrow.

I received a "sales offer" doc from my dealer. They are out of state, yet they charge me for state sales tax? I thought I need to pay that when I register my truck in my own home state, or are they doing that for me in this case? I never bought out of state before. Basic googling seems to say I pay that in state.

They messed up.. You pay sales tax in your own state. That means my tax bill in NH will be $0.

That's what I thought. That's after they seemingly "forgot" to add the 5% forum discount too. So are they just forgetful, or are they trying to take me for a fast one??? Neither of these two details are resolved yet and I'm flying to them in less than 12hours....might be a tough day tomorrow.....

They can add tax in, cash or finance sale. you just show your state you paid tax. Did you do a loan on this truck? Very common to pay tax out of state if purchasing at the dealer if you took out a loan through them. (they just do the state/DMV work for you)

But usually its just easier to have the customer do everything themselves.

Also they can't charge you tax illegally. Their financials have to match legally.
