That's capitalism brother. PC and other tech had higher demand and have high profit margins. It sucks for us right now, but its the beast we've created.
Totally agree with this, however it doesn’t explain how KC trucks fly off the assembly line and Dearborn ones are sitting in a lot waiting on chips. If the chip shortage is worldwide, why is it that KC can keep pumping out trucks and Dearborn is sidelined with no parts? Sounds to me like there could be some QC issues that are being kept hush hush.

My wild ass guess would be because they have the land and the parking lots to park them in MI. Perhaps they don’t have that luxury in KC.
*This is a completely uninformed speculation with no actual knowledge or insight into Ford’s operations.

KC is closed right now. While I envy their build and ship times prior to the closure. They most likely had more parts available and/or many trucks manufactured in MI are more complex. I.e. power deployable running boards and power boost. More electronics and more chips.

Watching pioneers posts, there are almost no trucks leaving Dearborn this week on his tracking. Must have no modules at all! Not good. I figured we would we see more trucks from our build week start to be released for transit this week.

I had been wondering if they were being built to be parking lot fixtures or to be shipped out I guess I have my answer now

I spoke with my dealer this morning and my build moved from “tail light illumination revision” to “seats mounting and electrical verification process”. This all seems weird if all it was waiting for were “chips”

My 3/18 built 502a (from Dearborn) was delivered to my dealer yesterday.

Unfortunately I had to reorder beginning of april after finding out Ford jacked around with the packages (502a/43B) and wouldn't have included features I expected considering they came standard on 500a and 501a with 43B.

This is the first I've seen statuses with those descriptions. I wonder which system your dealer is getting those from.

They stated there was an “open trace” on the vehicle. They mentioned something about traces being opened on all partially built trucks so they (Ford) could know what was being waited on for all orders. Not sure of the accuracy of the statement, but maybe some others here will have some insight.

Couple weeks ago I stopped by the dealership, at that time they said backup camera had to be replaced. I figure he meant waiting on a module.
I stopped yesterday and they said camera done but waiting for seat rails. I'm thinking these trucks or at least my truck is waiting for more than just one or two chips!

Do either of you know what your overall status is? E.g. In Production - Ramp 59, In Production - Never left factory, etc.

I'd be curious if they are able to see a list of everything that's outstanding on your trucks, or just the "last" thing that was worked on. Would be nice to know that 4 of 10 things are complete, or something along those lines.

Ford F-150 03/15 Build Week 1619725616849

This is what the vis report is showing for mine. No updates since 3/25. All updates have been gained through the dealerships conversation with I’m assuming regional Ford rep.

Thanks. I haven't asked for an update on mine in about 5 1/2 weeks. Last status I know was Ramp 59 on 3/22. I've really just been checking the tracker on this site, hoping the 1900 date changes to a real date, and assuming when it does, it means it's ready to ship.

Now I'm curious if anything's been done to it, like these sub-statuses that you posted, since hitting Ramp 59.

My Lariat was produced on 3/25 and sitting on Ramp 59 since then. Yesterday I noticed that ETA of 1990-01-01 was removed, with no ETA. I was hoping that was good news and soon it would turn into a delivery date.

My truck was produced on 3/17... no updates still.

This is very interesting... I'll have to ask my dealer if he has any idea what an "open trace" is... I'd love to know if anything is actually happening to my truck....

You got my hopes up with this one. It likely means something, although it may or may not mean progress. Unfortunately, mine still has the 1990-01-01 eta end date.
