- F-150 Lariat 4x4 3.5 PowerBoost
Absolutely! Will do. The ProPower was the only thing holding me back, but in my case my wife actually prefers the Ram to the Ford. The Hemi has smoother acceleration and the suspension is a little softer, despite having same towing and payload capacity.Nice looking truck! Check in from time to time and let us know how it is performing. I was looking at a Laramie locally with Hemi and eTorque and was sorely tempted. It had many of the features of the 502 Lariat I have on order with the big exception being the PowerBoost and 7.2 KW ProPower generator capability for my camper. My wife wasn't on board with the Ram, though; I did too good a job selling her on the PowerBoost last fall when I ordered.
With the etorque I feel it is quicker off the line when the auto stop / start kicks in with no observable hesitation.
12,000 lbs on towing (3.92 axle) and 1,460 payload….almost identical to an equivalent Lariat.
They are all excellent trucks (F-150, Ram 1500, Chevy 1500). The two things I learned through the process which maybe I’ll start a thread on, or possibly set up a website around, are payload and towing capacity. Ford obscures the info, Ram posts it clearly….but you still have to know where to look. I almost bought a Ram with the 3.21 axle and would have had a whopping 7,500 lbs of towing capacity. Once I realized the 3.92 was required for anything over 8,500 it made it easy.
Payload… you all are up to speed on that one.
Enjoy your rigs!!
