I'm a glass 1/2 full kind of guy. If Ford is only suspending builds for a week, maybe they are expecting a Chip shipment soon, but not next week.

I'm from the 1/10 build week. Just here visiting to see if any other info is available in other groups. If transportation is actually the problem, it would be cool if Ford would give us the option of a factory delivery. I would fly out to Michigan to pick up the truck and enjoy the ride home. Also, I'm definitely no engineer or logistics expert, but I've wondered why we can't just produce microchips right here in the United States.I'm thinking the bigger issue here is a lack of transport trucks and drivers. I believe they are saying Microchip shortage as a scape goat since it was a problem last year. A company like ford has clear line of site on when chips will be coming in. The production of chips is mostly automated and is not as heavily affected by lack of man power. The Chip factory burning down last year and sudden high demand is what destroyed that supply chain. Not the case this year. All forecasts are in and they would not have provided unrealistic build dates - and pissed off a bunch of customers on purpose. Delivery drivers however is a different story. Also, the communications team does not want to throw the teamsters union under the bus and say it's their fault (or any other truck union for that matter),
My dealer has not had a delivery in a week when they usually have transports arriving every other day. I have not seen many car haulers on the road lately when I used to see them everyday. This is of course speculation, but it would explain why the vehicles that say "Shipped" are estimated at 4 week lead times to arrive at a dealer.
Based on the Microchip supply, Auto manufacturers are forecasting lower production. Not forecasting 2019 levels and then disappointing everyone. Share holders hate decreases in volume but they despise surprises. Ford is better off showing a lower volume of builds and hitting (or surpassing) that number rather than missing forecast.
Just my two cents...
Careful. Admin might give you a strike for “talkin’ politics.” But I’ll throw caution to the wind and totally agree with you.I'm from the 1/10 build week. My understanding is that rolled over ‘21 to ‘22 orders during that time frame qualified. If one straight up ordered a ‘22…that rate did not qualify. Ymmv … I anticipate not qualifying. Ordered 10/27 on a ‘22. I was going to play that game a couple weeks earlier…but I didn’t want a ‘21…rollovers, incentives, etc weren’t known at the time to me.Anyone know if I placed my order on 10/11/21 If I would qualify for the 0%/72? Can’t find much info on the forum in regard to that except for MY21 to 22 conversions. Date on that sheet also specifies orders placed before December to qualify.
Ya I’m going to ask the dealer to find out. I checked in my area and it’s now 0.9%/36 months. My truck is waiting for pickup in the Delaware lot so hopefully I can pick it up end of next week.My understanding is that rolled over ‘21 to ‘22 orders during that time frame qualified. Was anticipating 0% on 36 months being delivered this month …but be lucky now to see the truck for months.

We can. Chip makers went overseas because labor is cheaper. I'm hoping a lot of goods that are made overseas, especially China will come back to America.I'm from the 1/10 build week. I thought that factory on fire was in Japan. We can. Chip makers went overseas because labor is cheaper. I'm hoping a lot of goods that are made overseas, especially China will come back to America.
It was. Chips are made all over the far east. We just need that manufacturing to come home.I thought that factory on fire was in Japan.
60 Minutes did a spot on chip manufacturing. I think the largest factory is in Taiwan. Intel is building factories here in the U.S., but it takes billions and a very long time to build one of those complexes. Can't happen soon enough - the sooner the better! It was. That stinks. But I’d rather have it sit up north rather than blistering Miami heat. Seen how long vehicles sit pier side to go on vessels overseas?Well, add me to the list.
Moved from 2/16 > 5/17…
I guess that means all of our trucks are going to be sitting in a parking lot for the next 3-months.
