It's a joke. I told my dealer that I'm not contacting them for anything & not to tell me anything until my salesman is physically sitting in my truck. I am beyond disappointed in the changing information. I am trying not to look at the tracker either. Maybe ill even say F this order and get a Ford Explorer off the lot. Lol just a joke, I need a truck in my lifeSpoke with my dealer today. He said there are no updates on my truck. He has another customer waiting on a Bronco since September. It's built but waiting on chips in a lot outside the plant in Mexico, with no foreseeable completion date. Seems odd since some folks with December build dates have received their trucks. I think it's all a mystery that only Ford knows.
Also spoke with a friend that waited 14 months to get their F150. It was a '21 order that was converted to a '22 for no uncharge, but had to wait a long time.
This is madness!!! (no Sparta jokes please...)
Mine did the same. EDT changed from Feb28 to May 3rdAfter my tracker staying constant (other than a disappearing act now and then) it updated this afternoon...to a 05/17/2020 estimated delivery from the previous 02/16/2022 date. Ouch.
Hang in there, brother. And please ignore my posts in the build thread I was punted to.It's a joke. Where did you get moved to now?Hang in there, brother. And please ignore my posts in the build thread I was punted to.
Maybe my theory was wrong.I'm thinking the bigger issue here is a lack of transport trucks and drivers. I believe they are saying Microchip shortage as a scape goat since it was a problem last year. A company like ford has clear line of site on when chips will be coming in. The production of chips is mostly automated and is not as heavily affected by lack of man power. The Chip factory burning down last year and sudden high demand is what destroyed that supply chain. Not the case this year. All forecasts are in and they would not have provided unrealistic build dates - and pissed off a bunch of customers on purpose. Delivery drivers however is a different story. Also, the communications team does not want to throw the teamsters union under the bus and say it's their fault (or any other truck union for that matter),
My dealer has not had a delivery in a week when they usually have transports arriving every other day. I have not seen many car haulers on the road lately when I used to see them everyday. This is of course speculation, but it would explain why the vehicles that say "Shipped" are estimated at 4 week lead times to arrive at a dealer.
Based on the Microchip supply, Auto manufacturers are forecasting lower production. Not forecasting 2019 levels and then disappointing everyone. Share holders hate decreases in volume but they despise surprises. Ford is better off showing a lower volume of builds and hitting (or surpassing) that number rather than missing forecast.
Just my two cents...
