Well, I tried to install my Bak X4s yesterday and that was a total exercise in frustration and futility. After taking everything off, waiting to hear back from Bak Industries or RealTruck, whichever is first.

That sucks! Hope my BAKFlip Fibermax goes smoothly. Plan to do it tomorrow when it warms up a bit. All my other mods have gone well.

Update: Finished the BakFlip Fibermax install. No issues. Everything went smooth. Did call BakFlip about the pads on the rails. They informed to keep it the way it arrived and that is exactly what I did. No issues at all.

Apologies for not getting back to you sooner on this. It has been cold here and not conducive to working around the truck. I wasn't able to find the cable to follow it (need to get the truck up on the lift), so I googled it instead.

The cord is located behind the front license plate holder and then appears go into a simple hot water heater style element that screws into an engine block coolant cavity. The element heats the coolant and in turn the engine block itself. Pretty simple design - I had never looked one up before. I've been told that using this means the defroster works much faster to clear iced up windshields and is also supposed to be easier on engine starting in cold weather.

Thanks for this! Very helpful. Doesn't seem like a big deal to add. I'll ask my dealer if they can do if I ever need it.

Thank you! I only got bumped once. Original build week was 12/20, but got bumped to 01/03/22, which was a very good week for all of us. No chip holds. That seemed to start happening the build week of 01/10. So, to answer your question, from build to delivery was only 21 days. Total time from My2022 conversion order to delivery was exactly 3 months and if you count the original My2021 order before conversion was 4 months and 3 days. Sheesh!

Actually, Build Week 1/3/2022 lucked out because the weeks before were also on a Chip Hold. I'm starting to think that Ford was able to get a bunch of Chips in and they had enough to ship out all trucks on hold and fulfill Build Week 1/3, but not enough for any more.

I thought they had the chip shortage under control, but no, huh? I wasn’t paying too much attention to previous build weeks before 12/20 though. Which build week are you in?

1/24/2022. Build Week 1/10/2022 are almost all on Chip Hold with more coming as customers call their dealers.

That blows. Our week was relatively small if you look at our spreadsheet. Maybe 11 or so? 01/10 is huge and I see what you mean about chip holds. It also looks like the person doing your week just removed the chip hold column.
