To anyone that is contemplating this. You do NOT need new leaf spring bolts. With the tires on the ground you can lower the truck and pull the bolt out over the frame. Easy peasy.
On my ' 17 Scab tow package 4x4 I just removed the blocks, used existing u bolts, and had no problems for the time I drove it. No vibes, no issues period.
On my '22 Reg cab I used shims because I removed the blocks AND used 2 inch shackles. If just removing the blocks I really wouldn't...
If you decide to go GM DON'T get a sunroof. When they work they are fine, but when things go bad, forget it. Bought the wife an Explorer ST in July before the finance rates went up, base model with no sun roof. Didn't want to put up with future problems.
It no longer lifts at speed, but there is probably a 3/16" gap between the cover and tailgate. Meaning it is not water tight. I expect leaking with any tonneau but anything near the tailgate will get wet.
Ford, and most of the auto companies have continued to build vehicles that they coul not finish. That vehicle sits waiting for components. Meanwhile some of your orders have gotten pushed back because they don't have parts. Is it because they built a vehicle that sits and rots on a parking...
Mine is/was FX4 reg cab short bed. Added Crown 2" shackles(slight trim of bed required, nothing major) removed blocks and added Belltech 2.5 degree shims.
That's right after the install, she has lost the FX4 decal and has new shoes since.
Venomrex VR-601 in anthracite wearing some Bridgestone Alenza AS Ultra in 285/50-20. Has a tad more poke than I wanted but nothing like the street 4x4's that have 26" rims and 12" lifts that never go in the dirt. It was the nearest choice to the unavailable Shelby wheel I could find.
If the question is will this chip shortage end any time soon then no. Best case scenario is mid 2023, however with the lunacy going on in Europe don't expect it.
Gave her a hand wash in preparation for the bumper covers I'm not going to install. Realized why this 61yo heart attack survivor doesn't do that very often.
I lost about 3mpg with E85 over premium. Depends on price of fuel as to whether it is saving you any money. Didn't feel a lick of performance difference between E85 and the 93 octane I usually run. If E85 was more available in my area I'd probably stay with it till gas came down.
I work for a third tier supplier for Ford, GM, Toyota and a few others. Global company that manufactures a multitude of items. One year the plant manager got a Porche plus a check as a bonus, I got $400 for my profit share. LOL.
Google rusty Toyota truck frames. They were rusting through in only a couple years. IF they ARE undercoated then it is because Toyota got tired of lawsuits. American trucks will not have a frame so brittle from rust that you can poke your finger through them in 2 years. If you don't like Ford go...
You all have seen where some of those trucks were stored waiting on chips right? My truck was dirty. My truck had surface rust on unpainted surfaces. Honestly do some of you live on a different planet than the rest of the population? Seriously dirt washes off and bare metal rusts. It's been that...
But if you jack up the rear, how is the oil pan going to drain all the way? While we are at it, an oily frame is a frame without rust, just saying. Yea I know this will grind some the wrong way, but it's just oil and it will wipe off. Do we really need to sweat the small details when there a...
