  1. 5.0 vs PB runs

You’re kidding! We are now entering an age where anything less than 500 hp is scoffed at. That is crazy!
  2. 5.0 vs PB runs

Well the thing is, the 540 hp Hurricane is not gonna be available in your typical run of the mill Ram 1500. From what I’m understanding at this point in time, is that’s the new TRX engine. The lesser Hurricanes are supposed to make 410 hp and something like 460 tq, give or take, which is still...
  3. 5.0 vs PB runs

I know this is a 5.0 vs PB drag race thread, but at the end of the day, unless you’re under the age of 30, who really gives a schiff…. As long as I can merge and pass with confidence carrying a full load uphill, and get ~20 mpg going 75+, I’m happy as pig in the mud.
  4. 5.0 vs PB runs

Is that 20A outlet only available on the PB? Or can any truck with PPO have it?
  5. 20 MPG Club

So you have the 5.0 and 3.31 gears. What cab, bed, and drive you have? Cuz those are some pretty high numbers for your typical Screw 4x4.
  6. How does it act in the mountains? (not towing)

Towed to Prescott, did a bunch of wheeling in the Bradshaw mountains and, towed back to my home town of Mohave Valley, just south of Bullhead. I’ve also wheeled around Williams AZ where it gets more snow per year than Denver. I do miss Arizona a lot, just love everything about the land there...
  7. How does it act in the mountains? (not towing)

You should have dropped it down to 5th gear to raise your rpm. I owned a GMC 2500 Duramax before switching to my current Ford (I was inexperienced with diesels and force induction at the time). My buddy and I were towing our 4-wheelers up to the Prescott area to go wheeling in the mountains, as...
  8. 2024 F-150 Order Guide (Updated with JOB 2 Guide)

Does anyone else besides me find the front grills and headlights of the ‘24 XLTs and below absolutely generic and hideous? I mean, yeah, they‘re LEDs but the whole dang headlight assembly looks like it was pulled off an 80s Mazda pickup…. I’m forced to choose a Lariat at minimum just to get...
  9. How does it act in the mountains? (not towing)

Wait, you would or would not recommend a 2021+ 5.0L?
  10. How does it act in the mountains? (not towing)

Dude, you’re preaching to the choir. I spent the first 25 years of my life in Washington, Arizona, Nevada, and California, trust me I know what real mountains are. My buddy and I used to walk our Polarises up several different mountains around Flagstaff, Prescott, and down in the Black Foot...
  11. How does it act in the mountains? (not towing)

My 2012 is a 6-speed lol. Plus with 3.73s, it doesn’t even know it’s on a hill to begin with when 90% of its torque comes on at 2000 rpm. It may fall off at high rpm but it doesn’t need to rev that high to begin with. It just pulls like a diesel. Hell, it pulled 4000 lbs up the Davis Dam highway...
  12. How does it act in the mountains? (not towing)

When the 3.6 Pentastar engine is screaming at wide open throttle and going no where when trying to pass a left-lane camper that keeps speeding up/slowing down and running out of road before having to let off due to an 18-wheeler on the right going 40, it’s not a capable engine. I have no...
  13. How does it act in the mountains? (not towing)

No I’m looking for something thats not an absolute dog. Even if the vehicle performs slightly less than my current 3.5 Ecoboost , it’s still light years ahead of a V6 minivan with about 1100lbs of payload in it.

    New Orleans here
  15. How does it act in the mountains? (not towing)

I haven’t owned a N/A truck for 15 years and been spoiled by my 3.5 Ecoboost and my 6.6 Duramax before it. My first truck was a single cab 5.3 with a 4-speed auto and no cruise control, so my experience in the mountains with a N/A V8 truck is limited. How does the 5.0L act while driving 70+ on...
  16. Ram, Ford, & Toyota Trucks Earned Poor Backseat Safety Ratings

No it’s not about cutting costs, because the same vehicles had good ratings for the same exact tests. What changed later this year was the size of the occupants in the back seat. Children age 12 and under that’s not in a child seat and smaller women are at a much higher risk than grown men and...
  17. Ram, Ford, & Toyota Trucks Earned Poor Backseat Safety Ratings

The updated crash tests focused on smaller occupants in the back seat…basically, women under 120 lbs or children 12 and under. They would either slide under the seatbelt or flung into the back of the front seat. Larger adults are still generally safe in the back seat. This not only affects...
  18. To Montana and back!

Hahaha, I know exactly what you mean about a wheezing minivan.
  19. To Montana and back!

I’ve been wondering for a long time and couldn’t find a straight answer. With the propower onboard, are the outlets inside the cab still limited to 400 watts? And if so, did you have to run an extension cord through the back window or is there a coffee pot that only pulls 400 watts?
  20. Trading a 12th gen for a 14th gen worth it?

Yeah that’s what we’re looking at, a used 2021 in either a 302a or any kind of Lariat. Something that’s more comfortable for traveling since mine is kind of barebones. It’s just a little upsetting to get rid of it after 11 years and a lot of memories in the truck including our honeymoon trip...
