I'm 70 and my first car didn't have PS, PB, PW, PL , AC, FM radio (AM only) and no cruise. Now I have a lawn tractor that has power steering and cruise control. Weird huh?
Can you post again when you get some miles on it and let us know if the redesigned drum was the fix or not? My dealer 'reflashed' my trans and it still clunks. They might know about the redesigned drum but wanted to try the reflash first. If I know the drum is the fix then I can mention it to...
I brought my truck in to the dealer, the tech drove it with a 2000 pound trailer attached and without the trailer attached and could not make it clunk. That's always the way it goes for me. We discussed the possibility of a bad valve body but without something showing up on the tech's computer...
I'm thinking the 2nd gear skip is there for normal driving but towing a light load or heavy acceleration might use 2nd. Like I said, my truck has skipped 2nd since new so I think this is normal. What isn't normal is the clunk.
Yes the trans skips from 1 to 3 upshifting but I'm not sure about 3 to 1 down shifting. 1 to 3 has been like that since new. The marks on the gravel road was the last time it did it and that's what prompted me to post on this site.
Has anyone brought their truck into Ford to address the issue of clunking when down shifting? If so what did they do to fix the problem or were you told that 'that's normal'. My 2021 3.5 sometimes clunks when down shifting from 4th to 3rd badly enough to leave marks on a gravel road. I don't...
There is no betrayal in buying a different brand of vehicle. Over the years, and there are many years involved here, I've owned Ford and GM. I like to switch just to get something different. There is no brand loyalty with me. Both Ford and GM make great vehicles and anyone that can't see that...
I make it a habit to not put stuff on the bed rails and the rear bumper. It's too easy to forget it and lose it. I've set my sunglasses on a tire of my skid steer and run over them when I started back up. I also have hunted with someone that rested their shotgun on the truck tire and ran over...
