Bought as dealership lease vehicle with 30K miles. Within a week started getting messages through the app that the remote features were being disabled to conserve battery. Had battery tested at AutoZone. Good. Continued to happen. People online with the similar issue said their dealership told them they needed to drive more. Absurd. Scheduled service. Meanwhile in the morning I will start up, roll down the driveway, turn onto the street and the gas pedal stops responding. It's like the tranny is gone even though I know that's not a thing. Just no response. No dash lights. Nothing. About 2 seconds later it lurches forward with a big thud like the fly wheel engaging hard (again I know this is not a thing in this vehicle). I think it's something wrong with the driving assist where it's not seeing the lines properly on the road and it's going into some kind of limp mode I have no idea. That idling followed by the sudden surge of power even squeals the tires a little bit but it all happens in a matter of about five seconds. Service date they looked at it and said the battery probably needed to be recharged. Paid for the recharge. Not 2 weeks later I'm on a jobsite on a summer day and truck won't start. Says all Accessory power active. Won't even go into neutral. Multiple dash lights. Service vehicle, battery, etc Tow truck had a special tool to get it into neutral but it was a b****. Towed to dealership. 2 days later they said they fixed it. Cause? Software needed to be updated! Charged $350. I battled with them because they probably should have done that themselves before selling me the truck. I asked if it's something that I'm supposed to be doing. They said probably not even on your home Wi-Fi it probably wouldn't work well. I explained that no one told me I would have to pay for regular software updates. That's stupid. They told me to turn on auto update in the app. I turn it on. It turns itself off. I turn it on again. Again it turns itself off. I turned it on a third time and it stays on. I close the app and reopen. Auto software update set to off. Irritated to say the least. I read the report and it said that there was an error to the battery charging module A and then several cascading errors stemming from that error. Whatever it was the update seem to have solved it. First cold day this fall I start getting the alerts again. Remote features disabled to conserve battery. I'm driving every day 20 minutes to work on the freeway in 20 minutes home with periodic city driving in between. 62° today and I went out and got in the truck to come home and it wouldn't start. Says, all accessory power active. I turn off everything I can think of that would be a battery drain and try one last time and it starts on a really low hum. Barely rolled out of my parking place and she starts to pick up then I'm on engine and good all the way home. Scheduled service again but don't trust them as far as I can throw them. I don't know a lot about trucks but it seems like it's either a battery issue, an issue with whatever electronics are supposed to be charging the battery in cahoots with the alternator, or some drain in the system that's causing the battery to lose power too quickly. Not wanting to drop $350 on an h7 just yet if I don't know whether it's a software hardware mechanical or otherwise issue first. Any thoughts? Anyone had any experience like this with these hybrids?
