What makes it compatible with MY24 but not with MY25?
I thought the MY25 is minor update from MY24 facelift version.

Wow…….$800+
'Value' is in the eye of the beholder. Not that it makes any difference but there's no shortage of folks on this forum spending much more on 'not really necessary' mods to personalize their F150 to their preference (e.g. aftermarket wheels, for one example).

Yep, for me the easy to install kit is worth the list price, YMMV, no worries!

Having said that, I'm happy to accept the adjusted price of $680+tax extended by infotainment under a storewide 15%-off 2-day flash sale offered after I placed my order (register on their website to get notice of such offers).

And IF there's a lower price offer during their upcoming Black Friday Sale, I'll request that under infotainment's 30-day price match policy, too.

@Infotainment : If I got it right I cannot order it for a MY25 KR yet because a KR falls under the "column w/ power tilt", right?

@Buyer2021: $680+tax sounds a much better deal!! Please keep us updated how the install went :)

COLUMN SHIFTER.webp

Back from a test drive running errands and I LOVE IT.

I'd watched the install video several times while waiting for delivery, I did as he did, no drama or surprises, not quite 2 hours taking my time.

The generously long harness is nicely wrapped with Tesa tape, sans the white 'Lightning connector' seen in the install video, perfect for my ICE Lariat.

What you'll need...
  • Thin no-mar trim pry tool
  • 7mm socket
  • 10mm socket
  • 7/16" box-end wrench
  • 5/32" hex driver (Allen wrench)
  • Phillips-head screwdrivers (best fit with both #2 and #3)
  • handfull of zip-ties (thankfully I had 1/8 x 3" zip-ties on-hand for lashing the excess harness, none were included with the kit)
  • A bit of patience, especially to get the upper & lower column shrouds fitted back together properly (tip: off the steering column, fit them together, looking at how the lower has a 'hook' to catch the upper).
Even more reason to really love my long-term-keeper unicorn 2022 Lariat SuperCab. Thanks for making it easy, @Infotainment, the custom column-bracket is brilliant, very satisfied customer here!

@Buyer2021 : fantastic! Thank you for the great pic and helpful write up of the tools.
All my previous F150s were column shifters so I do miss it on my current truck. And to be honest I still grab the air next to the column from time to time even till today. Habits die hard...

I am waiting patiently to have it be release for my KR and pull the trigger when it is 680 or less.
Can't pay more than that now that I know about it :sunglasses:

Cross-posting answers to question here, just FYI ...
The column shifter has all the same buttons for gear selection as the console shifter ("M", "+/-") and they all work exactly the same as with the console shifter. It all works exactly the same as a factory Gen 14 column shifter because it is an un-modified OE column shifter unit.

The only non-Ford parts in the infotainment kit are the wiring harness extension (with plug-and-play connectors at both ends) and the brilliantly designed bracket to allow absolutely secure mounting of the OE column shifter assembly on a non-shifter steering column (the bracket is very firmly / precisely 'keyed' into two existing holes on the column; it'll only fit in one place and will stay there, so the shifter assembly is located exactly the same as an OE column shifter).

The "+/-" buttons are conveniently facing you on the shifter lever, easy to reach but you're not gonna accidentally hit them.

So, just press the "M" and the "+/-" buttons on your console shifter to see what happens with the tranny and on your instrument cluster display, it'll all be the same with the column shifter.

The lever 'motors' to Park position exactly the same as the console shifter (e.g. if you shut-off the vehicle when in gear).

What's different:
  • no button on the front of the shifter handle to squeeze before moving the lever (just step on the brake to move out of Park)
  • no 'stow' / 'lay flat' button (obviously not needed)

Installed mine last Sunday. First startup it threw a U0301 code - lost communication with gearshift module.

Mine is a 2024 and apparently needs the dealer to perform TRON network programming to get rid of the code and dash message. Truck shifts and drives normally otherwise.

Called dealer but they’re not interested in helping me even though the parts are all OEM and I have the correct parts for my model year. I’ll try another dealer or an independent shop with access to FDRS.

Infotainment will update their site in the Things To Know section.

That's a bummer for sure - hope you can get that solved, and with cost support from infotainment in your early-adopter case. 🤞

Requires FDRS with License, can't be done with FORScan, I assume?
