Subject: Retail Orders - Priority Numbers

Today, I spoke to my dealership GSM (General Sales Manager). I asked if my current retail priority number of 19 could be changed. He answers is NO. He stated " he has two "Retail" priority numbers for retail orders number 19 & 20. He also said that if he goes in and mess with the retail priority number other than 19 or 20, it would trigger from a retail sale to a stock sale and then I would not get the negotiated price & locked in incentives.

Crap, I do not what right & what's the truth anymore with the Ford retail ordering process. I hope someone on this forum who actually is working @ Ford with retail order could answer.

My only status after 4 weeks is my order is listed as a clean build & nothing else. I recognize it's still early but wished I could get the truth from someone who actually works @ FORD and does the retail orders. Getting a straight/truthful answer is like pulling wisdom teeth (Painful). I feel like I cannot trust anything being said.

Any assistance, meaning factual truth would be greatly appreciated.

In Feb 2018 I placed a retail order and they gave me a Priority Code 10. It was definitely a Retail Order and the truck arrived 9 weeks after order was placed. This was done at Lafayette Ford in Fayetteville and I still have the order form that I signed. I’m still not sure of the way the codes are assigned. What dealer did your order?

Close to my build. 501A. Only difference with your info given.

Pretty cool! The only other things are Extended range tank, Under seat storage, B&O, and Tailgate step/work surface/power tailgate. I am kind of miffed by the tailgate packaged stuff. I just wanted the step!

Oh and Slate Gray Interior!

I was seriously tempted by a Space White stock ordered unit arriving at the dealer within two weeks... but after seeing Guard again. Its the ONLY way to live!

I have posted this a couple of times in different area's but here it is again.

Until the orders are selected for scheduling by Ford, the priority order codes only apply internally at each dealership. Meaning, this is the order in which that the dealership will "release" the customer orders in when Ford asks for them. This allows the dealership to prioritize certain trucks AHEAD of other trucks, regardless of when the customer actually placed the order. That's why it pays to get the highest priority order code (lowest number) assigned to your order. Dealerships often (but not always) assign lower priority order codes (higher numbers) to stock orders while assigning higher priority order codes (lower numbers) to retail orders so you (a retail buyer placing an order) get your truck faster, which means they sell a truck faster.

Analyzing the orders chart, I'm not sure what to make of things. It is an interesting graphics but not sure if all people are entering their VIN when they get it. I kind of hope not, there are 78 people who have no VIN before my Sept 28 order date and 26 that do. Only 9/35 Powerboosts that have been made before my order date. I'm sure there are many variables like people changing their mind and lost the forum excitement once the get their VIN. But if people with VINs are getting Feb build dates and 2/3 before me haven't received anything just how long are we talking about

I was looking at the orders as well and if nothing else, it is a little comforting to see that I'm not alone in waiting. What I don't understand is how some of the retail orders in Oct/Nov get processed before similar orders that were place early.

My window sticker showed up today on the tracking page (https://www.f150gen14.com/forum/pages/tracker/), and the truck is now showing on Ford Pass as well. Build date remains 12/20.
This is the Granger build.
Still no VIN or pricing from my local CostcoAuto dealer, although he has the info.

It could be based upon dealer allocations.

I just got my VIN a couple of weeks ago. Ordered on 8-14
It was placed into order processing and issued a VIN on 12-1
Scheduled for the week of 1-18 in Kansas City.
I’m sure you will be getting something soon.

As far as all those blanks on the spreadsheet, I feel a good portion have ghosted us or went out and bought something readily available.
I have not noticed a lot of those names in the chats for quite some time.

I’m one of 2 on that list that has ordered the 8’ box and I think only 6 have ordered the SuperCab. Not pleased a retail order is pushed out 7 weeks after OKTB, but a bit surprised because of the extended cab and 8’ box, it had not taken longer.
Just a basic 301a XLT

I was a bit surprised out of 170 orders, 40% are the PowerBoost. Ford was estimating a 10% market for the PowerBoost.

I know that is not enough data points for a accurate prediction but there is something there.

That is interesting. I know when I placed my order this week, my sales guy said they have a couple dozen orders for the 21’s, but only 4 or 5 for the Powerboost. Maybe the Powerboost buyers just like the forum life a bit more. Lol
