I guess it depends on how much cash?

Also I would make sure they are still required to get it working properly. Having never heard of that myself I don’t know what it does for Fords liability to get your truck working properly.

If it was something where they would pay out and expect to be able to walk away without fixing it, well it would have to be a whole heck of a lot of cash for me.

Also, as they are building trucks it seems like ford could certainly make a camera happen, maybe it just hasn’t been elevated to a high enough level internally yet?

All it does is pay you x amount for the trouble........ same as a pretrial settlement in civil cases. You keep the vehicle and carry on from there..... note: this could give them free reign on the time to repair - ask your lawyer

If you take some type of cash, you'll still deal with the aggravation and then one day have to unload it. Or wait until they can try to fix it. However, how much do you trust this lawyer ? He could be just trying to find a way to get paid quicker.

If this is real (I don't think it is) I figure the cash settlement would include an "as is" clause that Ford would no longer honor any unused warranty.

Its real but I told him I didn't want to go that route. Way too many variable to deal with, sure I might get some cash upfront but if they can't fix my issue I am stuck with a truck that I could never get rid of.

I guess if they did give me a settlement and they did fix it I would make out great but not worth the risk.

I made Ford buy back my truck with rust, ordered another with even more options, got all my money back then paid for new one when it arrived a few weeks ago. New one did not have the rust issue. Lemon law make them give you new truck.

I posted here because I didn't know what it was either. I was looking to see if anyone has also been offered this.

I know a person who may have sued Jeep / Chrysler and got the cash and kept the Wrangler. I ended up trading the Jeep in and then used the money for windows. They paid for the lawyer so that was good. They told me that they would continue to fix the car until i was like naw and got a different one from a different brand. Sorry that your Ford isn't working correctly. That does bite.

So I spoke to a lawyer about my ongoing Pre-collision warning. My truck has been in the shop 4 times for about 35 days they have replaced control boards and ran a bunch of test without any success. Since I bought the truck in March '21 the Pre-collision error has come on 135 times. Since they replaced the last control board the Pre-collision warning never turns off and I no longer have adaptive cruise, normal cruise, lane departure or pre-collision assist.

The next step is to order a new front camera and see if that fixes it, according to my dealer and Ford the front Camera are on indefinite backorder. The lawyer thinks Ford will use Covid as an 'act of nature' as to why there is a backorder and we wouldnt win a buyback, but he does think I have a good case regarding a Cash and Keep.

Just wondering if anyone has ever gone this route. My only concern is if the new Front Camera doesnt fix my issue would i be stuck with the truck.
Good afternoon! Could you please send over a private message with your F150's VIN and estimated mileage? We would like to take a closer look at this sensor issue you are experiencing.

While you’re at it, can you tell me when some parts will come off back order? Lol

I had A very Minor front end collision that damaged the front collision sensor and air dam. Parts have been on order for 7 weeks. Small note: normal cruise control is non operational if the collision sensor is damaged. Very annoying oversight

Yep going on 4 months without adaptive cruise, regular cruise, lane centering and all the wonderful safety features. Called the dealer yesterday and my Front camera has been pushed back another two weeks from the last date (5th time).

I mean if I at least had normal cruise I would be a little less frustrated not much but a little...
