The red flag to me is the mention of BG... that's an aftermarket transmission flush intended for systems that have been ignored and are in trouble. No mention of Ford fluid anywhere.....

Ignore them and stick to what Ford recommends unless you tow then transmission fluid and filter changes are needed more often than the 150k or whatever Ford recommends.

Ford F-150 Maintenance Requirements vs Quick Lane IMG_0915
‘25 Powerboost, 5,000 mile oil change. I would have done this myself but we were on the road. Besides $110.61 I used ford points which used up 26,594 points that’s like 243 points per dollar. Pretty much not going back to Ford at those prices.

At least the tech was pretty good at documenting what he did. That price with tire rotation isn't way out. Most quick lube places are $80 to $90 for just oil and filter change.

shame on quicklane. i have been taking our fords to quicklane since 2017. one 1 occassion, they tried upselling us on replacing brake rotors. when i asked what the factory new spec is vs minimum thinkness to turn vs current state of my rotors, the sales person and mechanic had no answer and could not get back to work fast enough. after they checked, they came back with "well gee wiz we're able to turn them afterall".

thankfully, this site exists. we can share our experiences, obtain advice and hopefully make better decisions.

ty to the op'er for posting. it generated a lot of feedback.

Soneone should super glue this to desk of every service writer including the service manager at AutoNation Ford in Katy Texas. They excell at breaking every single one of these.
You could not be more right with that statement. I’ve purchased two new trucks from them but won’t do so again. Also, the level of incompetence I’ve experienced with their service writers is mind boggling. I asked one of the writers why they always seem to fail at meeting minimum expectations and he replied “…you need to understand, we are a high volume dealer”. My reply was “Wow, so that’s your excuse for sucking at your job?”. It was funny, he just stood and stared with a blank look on his face for about three seconds. He may have continued doing so but I said just give me my keys so I can get out of here. I really really dislike this dealership and have kept a few friends/colleagues from buying/servicing there so at least I have that.

Well whoops, shame on me, I missed the tire rotation part that I didn’t request. In light of that then the price is more palatable.

I agree. You pay for the product (oil + filter; you can't ignore it - everything cost more now days) and the labor. The tech actually worked on the vehicle, including physical work (the wheels are heavy). I really don't understand what the $110 complain is about. Do people really think that everything on that invoice should cost $40-50?!

My friend took his truck to Sykora Family Ford in West and was told none of these were needed. So there are honest dealers. This was Bird Kultgen Ford in Waco TX.

Agree, but, we all know that a dealer will charge you for anything and everything labor wise that they can. For instance, you are having a new water pump put on and decide you want a new belt put on, well you can add to your bill the "normal labor charge" for the belt replacement, even though you are paying in the water pump replacement to remove it. Its not right.

Sorry I missed the tire rotation that I didn’t ask for.

True, but that's a totally different issue. I only addressed that invoice cost for the provides services. It seems like people expect to pay $40-50 for an oil change in 2025 or better yet - to have it done free. IMO it was a fair cost for the provided service by that technician.

Sorry I missed the tire rotation that I didn’t ask for.
Again - that's a different story. Of course you should not have paid for something that you did not ask and they should not have performed something that you did not ask for.

If I was Ford Motor Corporate, I would monitor this site Daily, to learn how to improve

At 5K oil & filter along with tire rotation done by myself was $58, add in an air filter at 10K and it was $95. The days of $40 doing it yourself are gone and those wheels are heavy for an old man like me.

Did the 10,000 oil change a couple of days ago $40 cover the oil and filter easily although I must say the Walmart price for the oil was about what the dealership charged, the filter not much cheaper. I use a large tire spoon to lever the tires up to the lug bolts cause like you say at 78 the buggers are getting heavy.
