All. I have a question about forscan programming. After I alter a module, do I need to go in and reset all the ones I have touched.

Reason I ask is that after I removed the rear camera "full view not available" I had to go in and reset the APIM module. Just wondering if it's best practice to do this with others?

Thanks!

Not really; most modules reboot during the off/on cycle that FORScan asks for when writing configuration. Definitely reboot a module though when a configuration change isn't having the desired effect or when doing exploratory work as I have been doing with HVAC for example. Things like configuring the Smart Surface theme (Unreal engine) in the APIM need a full reboot. When you first make the change, you end up with a messed up screen which is rendered properly after a reboot. In contrast, the IPC seems to reboot after a configuration write as you immediately lose myview and other settings back to default.

2021 Platinum with blue cruise equipment. I am having an issue where my left side steering wheel switches no longer function to turn on or control the cruise functions but the volume and stereo controls on the same side work. I was dealing with a IPMA software mismatch error causing the wrench light to hard set that had come after doing some other forscan changes (tire resize, transmission relearn, glare free lighting, and Bambi mode) when the issue started. I used the as built option on the ipma module to check what cruise it was seeing and the truck had selected basic cruise. I changed it to the bottom option and that’s when the buttons stopped working. I have uploaded the stock file and ever combination I have used in the past in between and nothing has fixed the button issue. I have a hard time believing that it a hardware failure (either clock spring or button assembly) occurred at that precise moment, but that is what the local techs are saying. It is only the top left hand buttons and the okay button on the right side that have quit so I wanted to check here before throwing parts at it. I attached the wench icon drx in case it is relevant. Any input is appreciated. TIA

I have your VIN. Your truck is reporting several codes in the SCCM; one being for incompatible config. You changed what to what option? Did you make the change in as built mode or easy mode? Where did it show you basic cruise control?

Unfortunetly I am not near the truck right now to get my modules to load to look, but I am pretty sure it was the APIM. It was in the top 3 choices. Changes were made in easy mode.

This is why I never use easy mode for anything. I like to know what is being changed and where. How long ago did you make this changes? Was this recent?

August 31st.
Have you pulled the ab data from Ford to compare it? If the truck hasn't synced up yet, you may be able to find the difference in the SCCM. Or I can pull the data from my truck's SCCM for you to compare against yours. Without knowing exactly what FORScan did, it's difficult to retrace the steps. Is there an easy mode function to do the opposite of what you did and if so, did you try that?

I have the original as built saved from when I first started using Forscan so I had a default. I am not sure how to get the ab from Ford I guess. Both using easy mode to change it back to what is was and that default file didn't work. I don't know if it's conflicting with other changes or what...the dtc codes remain even after a module reboot and do not change after the default is uploaded.

@SilverPigeon That you know of, is there a way to see what changes Forscan makes in easy mode?

@amkaras I think the problem is the config on the SCCM. I'll double check your VIN tomorrow, but I think my truck and yours are a close enough match where you can use the ab data from my SCCM on yours to see if it fixes it.

None I'm aware of Javier, just file compares of forscan .abt files And ford .ab files.

@amkaras, there is at least one other DTC in your screenshot. Please show it.

The TCM/PACM issue being a month old and intermittent seems to be a separate issue. I'm also prepared, after seeing the other DTC(s), to look into the SCCM issue if needed. I would ignore all SCCM DTCs except the "incompatible configuration" one which, when rectified, will probably clear the others in the SCCM.

Please see below. I assume it is unrelated to this issue so I didn't share it originally. I can pull the current SCCM data and send over my default as well if needed. I only included that screen shot to show why I changed the cruise in easy mode. I fixed the ipma issue but caused this other. I assume the mismatch will come back if I go back to default on the sccm. It takes 2 drive cycles to set that light so it’s not immediately know if changes cause an issue or not.

Update: I went back to the default and now the buttons work, but I do not have blue cruise or highway assist availble to me now. I still have the SCCM DTC for configuration incompatible as well. I have rebooted the SCCM module a few times and cleared codes but it hasn't helped so far.

Yes, the HVAC DTC is not related.

Take a current backup of the SCCM, rename it by adding .txt to the end and attach it here. Do the same for the original one you backed up before you started doing any FORScan changes and I'll do a compare if you want to see what can be done.
