Hey everyone,
I wanted to share that I finally found a resolution to my harsh shifting problems. My 2022 PB Limited was suffering from harsh shifting where it would drop the first gear really hard like the transmission was going to break or when the engine cuts off in Hybrid mode and kicks back on between low and high speeds. It was not as apparent when I first bought the truck but in the last year it was really annoying currently 60K miles on the truck. About 3-4 weeks ago I was getting a pulsing sensation between 30-45mph almost like it wanted to lunge forward but stuck in a gear. That lasted 1 week and went away but the harsh shifting continued. After reading many threads of the powerboost being plaqued with transmission problems I was bummed that my transmission was failing and didn’t want my truck ripped apart however I was prepared for the worst case scenario.
I have extended warranty on my truck so I dropped it off to the dealership and it turns out it was a valve body problem with sticky valve solenoid and simply needed to be reprogrammed. If this problem isn’t corrected it will eventually cause the transmission to fail. I was also concerned about the transmission fluid being low but they checked it and it was normal. I’ve had the truck back for 3-4 days now and let me tell you it drives better than when the vehicle was brand new. The shifts are super smooth and I now have this grin on my face of satisfaction with the experience. This is how the truck should have come from the factory. You can feel it shifting through all the gears but it’s smooth as butter. I hope this helps and gives you that same driving experience you deserve! Have a nice day.
