I have had my folding shifter out for 2 weeks and I still find myself reaching for it out of habit. Other than that, I don't miss that nonsensical piece of garbage at all.Never understood the appeal to the folding shifter.
I believe its sexier, but prefer function and reliability over looks, it's a truck,Never understood the appeal to the folding shifter.
The bin design was modified from Ajzride's to center the shifter in the bin, use screws instead of magnets, thicken the right sidewall, and reduce material and print time.
Outstanding! Thanks for the update post with part number. The rotary shifter is installed and working great, with manual shifting, gear lockout, and lights fully functional. Automatic switch to Park when the truck is turned off while in gear is instant and silent, unlike the folding shifter.
My truck is a 2021 Lariat Powerboost. The shifter is # NL1Z-7P155-B, (for a 2022-24 Expedition), bought new from Sunrise Ford. The bin design was modified from Ajzride's to center the shifter in the bin, use screws instead of magnets, thicken the right sidewall, and reduce material and print time. Thank you, Alan, for answering my many questions.

Good stuff Gino. Do you know if anybody has done a more centered and space efficient dsign like yours but front oriented for the assembly as opposed to this back one?The rotary shifter is installed and working great, with manual shifting, gear lockout, and lights fully functional. Do you mean like post #271?Good stuff Gino. Do you know if anybody has done a more centered and space efficient dsign like yours but front oriented for the assembly as opposed to this back one?
Like it yes, I have that. What i am wondering if anybody has centered it better, maybe moximized the availability space, and made it for screws yet?Do you mean like post #271?
I think the Etsy guy "Marion Makes" makes ones for screws. I am waiting for mine as the guy was swamped with orders, but I believe it screw held. I do not have a 3D printer so I used the Etsy guy. Email him and ask him how the shifter fastens to the unit.Like it yes, I have that. Here is the Etsy unit. Yes held in place with screws. I have the full setup but a 24 so it isn’t going to work for me unfortunately. Both Expedition and escape shifters plus housing.I think the Etsy guy "Marion Makes" makes ones for screws. I am waiting for mine as the guy was swamped with orders, but I believe it screw held. Yes, it’s too old. The 2018 Expedition is a Sync3 CAN Vehicle just like a 2018 F150. Your truck is a Sync 4 CANFD vehicle. You need something from a 2022-2024 Expedition.I've been eagerly researching the crap out of this thread for my 2021 PB Lariat, and finally 3D printed the parts... Went to ebay and purchased what I THOUGHT would work... I want the dial with the + / - but blank in the middle. The part number is JL1P-7P155-BF. Looks like there's multiple of those out there. I plugged it in and it works/moves correctly when the vehicle is on but once I turn it off it gives me a nasty dash error, and the light on the dial on P stays blinking...
At this point, given it's a 2018 part - is it safe to assume it's "too old" for compatibility? I didn't explicitly see anyone mention this part as a "doesn't work", but also neither as a "does work". Given how many parts there are out there... other than ordering new ($$$$), it's tough to know if it's going to work. I've seen LL1Z-7P155-G out currently in stock in Ebay... Thinking of trying that one out.
But I'm trying to avoid as much trial and error so... Can anyone confirm or not if the -BF has worked?? Or other (used) numbers ... Thanks in advance!
