F150 spacer for tire fitment

Hey all, I have a 22 F150 Platinum and I just had a Bilstein 6112 Stage 2 kit installed on my truck. To go along with this I went with a 317/70r17 at the recommendation of my local shop as the largest size that would fit. Unfortunately I am getting rubbing. After a little cutting on the front air dam, I am still getting rubbing at about 60% wheel turn. To avoid any additional cutting, I was looking at potential adding a .5-1” strut spacer to correct the issue.

The powerboost oblnly gets about a 1.75-2” lift up front due to the added weight of the battery, so I believe this should still result in a leveled result without the front being raised to much in comparison to the rear.

Looking for any feedback on the approach and recommendations as to best spacer option

Running that size tire, you definitely need some lift in the front. If you’re going with strut spacers, you’ll get the amount of lift that’s advertised with the puck spacers, regardless of it being a Powerboost. If you go with new coilovers, you will not get as much lift as a non-Powerboost. I have a Powerboost and installed 2.5” Motofab pucks and I got 2.5” of lift. How much rake are you measuring from front to back? My PB was exactly 2.5” of rake from factory.

I read your first message too quickly, Didn’t realize you already had coilovers. Sounds like that should work to add spacers on the coilovers. I don’t have personal experience doing that, I’ve heard of others doing that. Now that you mention it, I’m interested to hear from anyone else that has tried it. I really want the ride of coilovers, but I want the 2.5” of lift.

Anyone else tried this? Is it not recommended for any reasons?

No experience, other than I have the same level on a PB that got the rub after adding wheel spacers...

Its probably a bit more expensive than coil over spacers, but I think icon or factory tremor knuckles would also get you an extra inch

You can use a spacer instead of preload to get your height.

I have Bilstein 6112s (fronts) and 5160(rears) shocks installed today.

I am thinking spacer is the lowest cost and easiest fix. The vehicle is within an inch front to back, just needing enough to clear the tires

is it a street queen? changing ride height doesnt affect tire clearance if you use full suspension travel on IFS. youre just changing where in the arc of the travel the tire sits at ride height. make it fit properly so when you throw it in reverse and back over the starbucks curb you dont tear up something. chop chop and BFE fixes everything.

So if an addtional 3/4" will stop the rub at static ride height, isn't it still going to rub during bump travel or body roll during cornering? To me, lifts and big tires are for better off-road performance where full travel and full lock are desireable. If you don't have clearance under those (all) conditions, the tires are too big.

This. The best way to make tires fit is put the shock at full bump, all the way to the bump stop and turn the wheels lock to lock. Trim as needed.

I have a question that I haven't seen answered. To me "leveled" trucks, where the measurement to the top of the wheelwell aches are equal, look front high to me. Has anyone put a 4' level on the bedrail? Could just be an optical illusion wih the hump of the hood.

Agree with your logic, assuming the wheel well arches are the same front to back… I feel like a previous Gen F150 (circa 2013) had different wheel well arches from front to back that caused “leveled” trucks to appear nose high. I just always measure from center of hub to bottom of fender. Suppose the 4’ level on bed would be a close indicator assuming you are parked on perfectly level ground.
