Picked up my 2025 a couple of weeks ago and due to crazy schedule and weather, today is the first time I've had to really spend some time looking at the truck. On my truck there is no engine cowl covering the top. You can see the two grey hooks where it looks like it would clip into. I've searched online for engine bay pictures and couldn't find anything for 2025. I see older models have the cowl. Does anyone know if they did away with the cowl or am I missing it?

I ordered a used PowerBoost cover from Ebay for $93.00. Just be sure to get the one that matches your engine as there are three diferent covers for each engine designation. PowerBoost, EcoBoost, EcoBoost Performance Raptor, Also, you will need two ten millimeter nuts to fit the two front studs on the engine. The studs where on my 2025 KR 3.5 Powerboost. I used detailer spray on the used cover and it looks like new!

Honestly it doesn't bother me. I think engine covers are silly and would have removed mine eventually anyway if mine had one. The hood already covers the engine so a vanity cover is redundant IMO.

I have been told by a Ford mechanic that the cover was to help muffle the noise made by the high pressure fuel pump. It was not cosmetic.

Yep……that’s why it was foam and not a hard plastic/polymer piece

I just added the cover last week and it does seam to make the engine slightly quetier on the KR but not earth shattering. I ordered a missing engine cover for my wifes 22 Lincoln and it definately quieted things down. YMMV.. I am old school and personally like the engine cover look as it looks more "finished". The Tundra has one for cryin out loud! Ford will probably remove the pushbutton start and go back to a key soon at this rate!

That makes sense I guess. I just remembered now that on my 2011 the cover was plastic but there was a foam block that was to cut to fit over the fuel pump or regulator because it did make a noticable clicking noise. It didn't bother me though so I removed that along with a bunch of foam that was lining the area where the hood mates to the fenders because it was rotting away. The new truck doesn't even have that.

It's crazy how much noise suppression Ford put on those 1st gen EB trucks because they weren't sure if the whole TTV6 thing was going to scare people off or not. In the gen 13 and newer trucks you definitely hear the engine more both inside and outside vs the 12th Gens.

For the high pressure fuel system as it is noisy ... but the cover also contained the heat which is not necessarily a good thing either.

My 2024 does not have the cover, I'm also in the camp of removing the cover if it had one. Holds in heat and makes a nice home for mice.

If it was a heat isssue that negatively impacted the engine in any way, Ford would recall them and remove them as it would affect warranty claims.

It's simply a cost cutting measure that the bean counters at ford fugured not many would notice since the engine cover is only visible with the hood open.

Do you have any data from Ford that the engine cover holds damaging levels of heat in the engine?

Do you guys now have the foam covers over the HPFP itself and injector rails like us 5.0L V8 peeps or nothing? These noise arrestors on my 5.0 are the exact same material that my friends 2021 3.5L EB vanity cover was made out of. It’s like a squishy foam. The circle is the HPFP one.
