GM is definitely my 2nd choice.

I'd drive a Ford Pinto before I'd buy a RAM and a Toyota, while admittedly a great vehicle is out of the question.
Nissans are just cardboard trucks. I can't for the life of me understand why anyone would buy a Nissan.
...my 2 cents
The GMC was okay, their interior sucks and couldn't get one that would tow a decent weight. Really had to look at the 2500 to get into the upper tow capability of the f150. Brother in law has the 2500 Denali. Super nice. A lot of problem trying to configure a GM to tow and have a 40/20/40 front bench seat. Next to impossible. I don't understand why folks like the ram interior. I hate vertical screens and the buttons everywhere would drive me nuts.

Anyone else considering just cancelling their order and waiting for a Lightning?

The range is super trash so no.
Sure was considering it If the specs and range were something exceptional, but I second succeed23...
And I think I'll be glad to have this gas/hybrid operated long-range traveling and towing truck for now until they figure out some way for midsize E trucks to have a hell of a lot better range than 300 EPA. That's probably more like 200-250 real world especially once you put passengers and some cargo in the bed. And if you did tow a trailer!? ??! I don't care for an extended stop every 2 hours when taking a road trip...
Not to mention even if the upfront purchase cost is only a little more... And cheers to Ford for keeping it reasonable!,... But you will still have to pay electricity to charge at your house every night which most people don't take into consideration when they think they won't have to pay for gas. (Still probably cheaper than gas but if the average electric vehicle cost ~20 bucks a month to charge per google, and this is a bigger vehicle and presumably bigger battery for the bigger pickup truck, how much $ / kw per month?

I am sure a lot of people who ordered trucks in Jan/Feb/Mar feel the same way. In about a month or two the Apr/May crowd will feel the same. Basically the perfect storm (great movie btw).
Don't forget the people who ordered last year... some of us are still here.

If you think about how they most likely filled up the lots, you in theory should be front of the line for chips. I’m assuming they will pull vehicles in reverse order to complete trucks. I only say this based on the pictures I’ve seen online of these holding lots. Trucks parked back to back, seems only logical that they would go reverse order to make it “easy”. Guess that means my 3/20 build is doomed for after August.
With Ford's handling of the situation and my luck thus far, I fully expect this to be the case. My 3/17 build will be sitting right next to yours.

My current ETA is 7/30, but it bothers me that it was exactly 90 days from the day it popped up on the tracker. It sounds like those of you that just got an 8/20 ETA got the same 90 days in the future delivery ETA. Feels like a placeholder and, if that's the case, it probably doesn't mean anything.

Oh man, yeah i feel for the people who ordered last year. Y'all are very patient!

My number is six. If i don't get my truck in six months (from order date) i'm cancelling/not taking delivery. The only cars i'm willing to wait a year for is a Ford GT, AMG or Porsche.

So I had to get on the sales manager a bit. I've been asking the dude for weeks to get me the secondary status of my truck, and responded with "we only got one guy that does that..he's on vacation." He also said that they reached out to their Ford guy about my truck, and were waiting to here back from the representative. Today I got a text that only said "your ETA is August 14." I called him because I didn't want information I already knew, didn't ask for and could get on my own. The dude then says it's a chip shortage, and that's all Ford is telling him. I said push them on that because that's BS! It would be a chip shortage if there weren't so many trucks delivered after my build let alone builds from last year! I mentioned that I have no bedliner, wheel well or even mats on my order, so if trucks are fully being built now, then there isn't a shortage. Then I asked for a vehicle visibility report, but his response was "Oh I'll see what I can do." That response just told me all I need to know. I'll just wait on the truck, wrap up the sale and never do business with that dealership again.

Sorry to hear your going through this but I think there will be a lot of dealers looking for new customers before this is over. I have been after my new/replacement salesman all week to get me a visibility report and still no report. I can't imagine they are so busy selling vehicles right now with hardly any inventory that they cannot take care of their existing customers, but here we are.

I don't believe that any other dealers would have any more info than what you are getting today. They just don't have the answers from Ford.

I told him to push back with Ford. Ask the obvious questions. I've decided to give up on speaking to the dealer about updates since they are at the mercy of Ford. What's the point of having a Ford regional rep? Speaking to the dealer did nothing but frustrate me so I'll just focus on saving up for my mods.

I think it has less to do with having answers and more to do with having open honest conversations. To just ignore the customers due to not having the answer, to me, is worse than telling the customer they don't have the answer.

I have already informed my sales guy, I want NO BS with my sale. Zero Dealer addons, like nitrogen in tires, VIN etching, tire and brake plans, or other crap like that. I am going to bring a check for our agreed on amount and walk out the door with the key and drive away.

I am not going to wait for months only to be hassled at the time of sale.

Make sure you tell them no wheel locks. They are brutal and the key snaps at the worst possible times.

I asked my dealer for the "visibility report" today and he had it to me within minutes.
All it shows is that my truck is "in storage".
The ETA of May 19 still has not changed on the useless Ford trackers and my window sticker still has not returned.
