Dearborn Shut Down 5/17 - 5/30?

The chip shortage and all the other issues are really messing with all the automotive producers in a big way.

News is still saying the shortages will not be for just this year. The US needs to get these type items brought home to be produced, our leaders need the take heed for the writing has been on the wall for many months now.

I'm sure glad I got my order in very early and even then it took months longer than usual. I did save a lot on the price increases and still had some great rebates that I see are falling off now.

They say it takes years to build a chip factory from the ground up.

I've done work in those factories. If you've ever seen a refinery or a chemical plant with the giant maze of pipes, imagine 10 of those crammed into the space of 1 ...inside a building.
We're not getting out of this mess anytime soon.

I'm not going to lie until I read this thread I was thinking to go buy a used F250.
I mean how long do you wait on an order before you move on? I need this truck to pull our new travel trailer and have couple camping trips already scheduled. Already renting a truck for the first one.

Latest news in the Detroit Free Press makes no mention of the week of 5/17. But states that week of 5/24 (my scheduled build week ) is cutting back to running only 1 shift. So cutting production way back.

I wonder how much the 'Priority #' for our Special Orders matters, these days.

As a squeaky wheel, back in early February, I pushed and got my Jan 2nd Order improved to Priority #1. 8 weeks later, it was in Production. The truck is now in it's 6th week of 'seasoning' on the Dearborn Test Track, awaiting a microchip for the rear camera. I still have no dates as to when it will be built, shipped, or delivered.

In 2021, at least in my experience, the concept of 'Priority #' means little.

I was told by Pioneer over in the other forum that Priority is only for getting to Build. Has nothing to do after build. Of course in the old days once it started build, it finished build then it was shipped. So there was no need for a "priority" of how long it sits in limbo, because there was no limbo.

I claimed a truck my dealer has on order with a production date of 5/7. Dealer says it should arrive 6/6-6/12. We shall see!
Shows up on Ford tracker.tech but not on the actual Ford tracking site.

For everyone who is going to wait for a 2022 and do an order then - it seems the 2021 build year for an F150 is a bit more extended this year:

The full 2022 production startup (job 1) is 12/6/2021. You can start ordering 2022s on 9/5/2021. With all the craziness of this year I do not expect 2022 models to be to the dealer until very late December or January.

I remember seeing next model year trucks on the lot in October most prior years (pre pandemic).

Mine was built last Friday 05/07 & today it shows built & in transit as of this morning. ETA to my dealer in south florida 5/24 to 5/30 . Powerboost Lariat with power running boards & spray in bedliner. Obviously not a hold up on those 2 items either. I ordered it on March 19th

You and I have ordered the same truck almost. Mine is suppose to be delivered the 29th. It hasent changed, but it still says in production. Good luck.

lucky guy, mine was ordered December 30, 2020 and Ford is telling me eta is July 30!

The Tracker for mine has an ETA date next week (5/24) as well!

Of course, it also says its 'In Production' as does yours. It has for 6 weeks now.

Not only that, but the Tracker shows no 'Built' date, no planned 'Shipped' date, and shows a 'Delivery' date of "Est. N/A".
(I'm choosing to interpret that as meaning Ford will ship it to my Estate in North America.)

I truly hope you receive your truck next week, after a long wait. As for me, I'm not getting my hopes up. I wish the best of luck to you, though.

Awesome!!! Congratulations on the Truck man. It looks outstanding.

This gives me a glimmer of hope. I have a 5/20 ETA but I am in the south. Hopefully mine was shipped out as well.

Did you ever track with Palsapp.com? Just courious as to what the shipping company gives as an update.

edit- I saw you mentioned in another thread you had a May 3 build week. I no longer have hope, it seems like starting in May the trucks that are built are shipped because several people from this week that have a confirmed shipped date or the truck has arrived.

I don't think anyone from my build week has gotten a confirmed ship date much less a truck.

Edit #2 I stand corrected someone from the week of 4./26 just got their truck.
