Anyone having issues with the diode dynamic headlights being dim and not really projecting properly? I’ve readjusted them 7 times now and worked with DD and they are still nowhere as bright as OEM headlights, even some halogens.

I started out in the beginning following their instructions exactly, 23ft from a wall and measure from the dot (44in) then measure that onto a surface and adjust. That adjustment nearly got me killed as it had my lights to the sky and I couldn’t see anything on my drive home. A few adjustments later and I’m probably around 39 inches now with the lower beams 3 inches lower than that. It is better but not great.

Every OEM vehicle with LEDs I see is brighter than these lights are.

After a lengthy email chain with DD I am about to give up.
Are there any other ideas to make them as bright as OEM lights?

Here is a video link that shows other cars lights being brighter than mine, especially the Jeep at the end. The dashcam and the photos attached are brightned up sadly due to how the cameras are.

I have the halogens on my truck and personally I think they’re wonderful. I have had dial dynamic lights on a Tacoma and they were absolutely amazing.

Give DD a bit to respond. I’m sure they will work with you and sort out the issues you’re having. Wonderful company with great customer service.

What size lift do you have?

I have a 2023 with a 3.5" lift and 33" tires.

My truck measured 42" I believe to the center dot. So I put mine at 40" against the wall (i like a 2" drop on a lifted truck to help the light go DOWN and not blind people).

I then measured 37" for the lower projector.

So mine are at 37" and 40" and I had no issues. I could see great.

I’m a regular cab with the ford performance leveling kit (2-2.5in) and on 35s. You’d think the dot measure wouldn’t matter regardless of lift or rake since it’s taken on the vehicle as it stands but clearly is matters very much.

Do you recall at what distance you did your measurement?

And you're at 44"

I'm 1" taller then you with a lift but you have taller tires, 1.5" more taller total which equates to 3/4" So call it a wash as far as height goes. So I don't understand how you're at 44" Then again im on 17" wheels so you might have bigger wheels but still... 35s are 35s.. its not like they get taller if you go from a 17" to 20"

Anyway... if you're at 44" i'd say put it at 42". That's where im at and seems good. i thought I MIGHT be too high but as I got to a stop light I could see my alignment was great. On a smaller SUV my headlights were below their window on their tailgate which is perfect for a lifted truck.

IF yuo are not aligned properly the light will seem like it's bad. I had that issue years ago with Morimtos. I aligned my truck on a non-level surface and I was all over. it's VITAL you do it on a level surface. Your driveway may not be level to your shed, if that is how you aligned it.

That's my guess... because these DO put out a lot more light over the Morimtos I had.

Hard to find a good level spot, I may have to call a shop but if they follow the instructions it’ll be at 44 again. I’m on 35s with 17s. I’ve adjusted them so much that the fender liner is getting creased and rubbing on the tires..

I believe I am at 39 or 40in right now for the top beam.

It's very important. Try behind a store (big box stores work great).

Yeah that actually makes sense. Im at 43 1/2" (slightly above that). So yeah 44" for you makes sense.

Do yours have a very large cut off on the left side light? I know they are VOLs but the line cuts off sharply.

I’m not proud of this drawing but it’s this left side that cuts off.

When you are driving around do you see all four lines distinctly from each projector or do they all come together as one line?

Well I notice 2 but yeah because Diode has you stagger the top projector and low projector you will see that. Im NOT quite sure why they have you do that. Other dual projector/quad projector systems I've used have the projectors all linked together and they are all aligned. So when you move them up/down all the projectors move together so the cut-off stays consistant. But Diode has a separate alignment for the top and bottom one offset by a few inches. If it bothers you just make them equal on the wall.
