I will check on that module when I pick it up tomorrow/Wednesday. I’ve been hearing the module is already there and just needed the brake controller part then a simple FORScan change, should work?
Confirmed. Just needed the TBC controller! Dealer charged me 1 hour of labor to activate.

Outstanding! If you find out the correct TBC controller, please let me know so I can order one in! Also curious if it needs to be enabled by a few changes in FORScan (better way) or FDRS is required (hopefully not).

But Ford did the software activation. Worth it IMO.

Thanks! To clarify, did you get it activated by the dealer or came already activated from the factory?

Dealer. I did not have a factory TBC. Bought one(ford gave me the part number and sourced it from another dealer as it's backordered) and took the part and truck to local dealer.

It's literally just the switch for the dash.

Perfect thanks! Is there any specific you told the dealer service for them to do it? I have that ridiculous coin holder in place of the TBC smh.. but it is optioned out with the trailer package (have everything except the TBC switch).

Service manager knew exactly what I was after and never backed up.

Thank you! I appreciate it! Will get that part ordered (ML3Z-19H332-AB) and hopefully they know exactly what I’m talking about lol. Miss those days where you could just enable it on FORScan ?

Has anyone with a 2024 F-150 Lariat added back the trailer brake controller? I know there's 2 parts to change (Trailer Brake Controller and module) as well as FORScan change(s). I have 2 friends who's looking to add it.

Just wanted to verify if this is true before parts get ordered and what was the FORScan change?
Hi Guys. First post.

Although there is some great bits of info here and you will find the answer if you sort it out, I just finished adding the brake controller to my '24 Lariat. Here's a summary what I experienced:

* The module that came installed in the truck was a RL3T-19J295-FB. This module will not work, it only controls the lights for the 7 way connector and will have to be replaced. The replacement part is under the service part number RL3Z-19H332-A, which is actually a module with the part number RL3T-19J295-BB. This is the module you need. (might be RL3Z, the Z indicates it's a replacement part AFAIK). It's located by the brake pedal and held in by two 10mm bolts. There are two wiring items plugged itno it.

* The switch is referrred to as service part ML3Z-14529-A, and I've seen this turn up as a power window switch for some reason, so use that PN with caution. The production part number is ML3T-043D62-AE3JA6 where most of that suffix just means it's black. The coin holder pops out (easily if you're lucky, I was not) and the wires needed are indeed plugged into the coin holder.

* Using Forscan, backup the original TRM (only needs to plugged in, no need for it to be bolted on) use that backup to write to the new TRM. There are 3 changes needed in the IPC, and one in the TRM. I'm too lazy at the moment to hunt those down, you'll find them elsewhere if you look around a bit.

Other caveats:

There is some sharp bits under the IP. I have a very torn up right hand from working under there. Probably a good idea to wear gloves.

Be careful using anything sharp to pop out the coin holder to avoid damaging your IP. If you can do it without a tool, way to go. I used a sharp pick at the corner and promptly stabbed myself in the hand. Hand damage 1, IP damage 0.

Once you're hooked up to a trailer, you'll know if it's set up properly if you can see the gain setting change on the display without the "Trailer Not Connected" warning. I'm sure it goes without saying, but make sure your brakes work on the trailer by using that switch.

That's all I can remember for now.

DISCLAIMER: You're better off letting the dealer do this work, YMMV, do this at your own risk, don't do it, it's not my fault, my advice is worth exactly what you paid for it, blah blah blah

Thank you for this; this really helps and without using FDRS and using FORScan, I think most people will go this route!

To clarify for others who’ll read this, you’ll only need the following part numbers correct?

—Trailer Replacement Module (replaces under footwell): RL3Z-19H332-A
—Trailer Controller Switch (replaces coin holder): ML3Z-14529-A

As for the 3 FORScan changes needed in IPC and 1 in TRM, if you’re or anyone who’s done this; able to track down which 4 changes are needed, that’d be perfect!

Reasonably sure these are the values. Refer to Livinitup's spreadsheet. Only two IPC changes, not three:

IPC:
720-05-02 TB enabled
720-07-01 TBC enabled

TRM:
791-01-02 TBMC PRESENT

Those part numbers are the service parts - the part numbers that are actually on the parts:
RL3T-19J295-BB Module box by the brake pedal
ML3T-043D62-AE3JA6 Switch on IP
