To those of you who have experience a delay in the delivery of your new 2024 vehicle. Did your dealer or Ford offer an incentive due the months the truck sat for quality control issues? If not, did you ask for a discount due to the inconvenience the delay may have caused? I ordered my truck in Jan. 08, unfortunately dealer has no clue when it will arrive. Being that we are halfway into 2024, I'm really thinking Ford should offer some discount, specifically for orders that were delay due to quality control issues.

Threaten to go buy a GM or a Dodge because you can likely drive it home that day and see what kind of response you get LOL.

I handed over a deposit the day I placed my order like many have. Unfortunately, I did this before knowing about Granger. In late February, after receiving a notice that my order would not arrive 03/08, I began to look for other options. That's when I came across posts recommending Granger. I did reach out to them and received a great offer. I was tempted to place another order with them, but then I'd be out another $2,000.00, and restarting the waiting time of 6-9 months.

I was quoted MSRP, and I was fine with that back in January when I received and ETA of early March. Fast forward to today, I will try to negotiate Granger price in CA.

Your deposit is with the dealer and solely them as Ford does not require them. Not to kick you when your down but you should never do one especially if its non-refundable. The dealer has zero control or guarantee of your truck being built or delivered in a timely matter relative to your expectations. If your dealer wants to take care of you, they will but Ford does not have any such obligation. They did some incentives for mavericks and other vehicles in the prime covid years but those were mainly for those who got rolled over an entire year. Your only incentive currently is you are price protected from the order date incase of any mid year increases.

In April of 2022 I paid about $5,000 more for a super crew XLT that was a compromise in some respects but I had the truck without waiting for 6 months or more. There are always options if one accepts the tradeoffs.

I hate the Super Crew with its very long wheelbase that makes parking a pain and is almost as bad as a DRW truck. But it had the 3.5L engine, the 36 gallon gas tank, 3.55 gears, the locking rear differential, and 4WD, which were my must have items for a new truck.

I waited 11 months for my F150 after ordering from Granger in February of 2022. Granger gave me an opportunity a few times to cancel the order and get my deposit back, which I didn't do. When I completed the paperwork at Granger, I received more in incentives than I was expecting. I assumed it was Ford adding to my incentives due to the long wait. However times have certainly changed since 2022.

Find out what priority code your order has and ask to speak to the regional manager to see if it can be upgraded.

"When you do a custom order from Ford each order is given a priority number. The lower the number means the sooner it will get built. Retail orders will generally be given a code from 10-19, store inventory cars will be given a 20-89 number. Regional managers have the ability to give orders numbers 1-9."

My personal opinion. This is a golden opportunity to tell the original dealership that you want to cancel the order and want your deposit back. They should hand it to you no questions asked.

Then I would start the process over again with Granger.

With that said 5 or 6 months in the F-150 order game is not unusual. You will need to start over again, and that may suck, but if you are paying MSRP you will be able to fill up the bed of the truck with the money you saved from Granger. Good luck.

I am almost 9 months in on my order from Granger….. I have a somewhat hard date in July that I need the truck by. I talked with Granger if my truck doesn’t show up by the end of next week or beginning of the following I think I am just going to buy one off the lot

Priority code was set at 19. I'll wait for the first week of July to see if it arrives. If not, I guess I'll just start selling off all the mods I have in my garage and recover some of the money.
