110v Compressor options

Are there any high volume 110v shop compressors that would be a good fit for the PowerBoost? I know that we have some gold standard 12V compressors like ARB, but I was wondering that given 110v on board, is there a more cost effective option open to us?

Not sure about cost effective, but I have a California Air 5 gal compressor that is VERY quiet compared to most of a similar size. Aluminum tank (no rust), lightweight. I used it putting in new hardwood floors at my parents house, and we could still have a conversation while it was running.

Thanks! I’m looking for something without a reservoir so it’s compact but I guess I’ll stick to the 12V options.

I bought a Husky 1 gallon small regular 110 silent compressor. It is as quiet as a compressor can be. $140 at Home Depot and I know Makita makes one too for a little more. It weighs about 25 Lbs.

This is the smallest reservoir compressor I could find and it works great. Plug it into the PB and go anywhere.

Definitely will not fit under a seat but it is worlds ahead of any of the compact ones I have seen. This one works and quickly. You can see it in the back on the right.

Now this looks promising! How long does it take to air up your tires and what size are your tires?

I never had the tires really low but when I was testing the unit on the OEM Hankook tires I let the air out of one of them to about 25 lbs. I then hooked it up and in maybe 30 seconds had it to 33 lbs. I have used it again for maintenance but that is for topping the tire off with maybe 2 lbs and it is to short of a time to really judge. 5 seconds?

It really is great for tires but you probably would not want to blow up an air mattress or some kids blow up pool as it is only 1 gallon. It refills fast but it is not huge volumes of air. They make a nice 2 gallon one too but that pushes it up to about 45 lbs weight and may be overkill for light duty, unless you go sand driving on a regular basis.

Craftsman has one that is $50 more and has 3x the HP, air capacity, and flow rate. It is louder, 15 lbs heavier, and a few inches bigger, but still pretty compact. So far my 12v is holding up, but if it dies, I think I would be looking at it.
