Hi all,

I've got a front wheel hub that needs replacing on my 2021 5.0L XLT 4WD. Doing a little googling and I get 3 part numbers that are apparently compatible with my truck so I'm not sure if that's actually true or not. I've seen:

ML3Z-1104-K
ML3Z-1104-M
WA590879 (rockauto)

The price difference between them is pretty substantial so I'm hoping someone could point me in the right direction.

Thanks!

I would check with a dealer as these items can be vin specific especially if you are showing 2 different Ford part numbers. I also wouldn't trust google. How many miles do you have that you need a bearing replacement already?

125,000km, pretty much all highway. The "K" and rock auto hubs run about $190 but the "M" one is almost $800.

That's not a lot of miles to need a wheel bearing. I'm not being rude, but you are sure the bearing is bad. Unless a bearing has been abused with a lot of off road, water crossings, bigger or more offset rims that strain the bearing, they usually go further than this.

I'm running with the assumption it is. Truck is throwing a right front tone wheel code at me. Normally I'd just change the abs sensor but it's impossible to get one of those without buying the hub. So in for a penny in for a pound.

I got it. Abs sensor or the tone ring is bad and they are integral to the assembly. Thanks.

For your 2021 XLT 4WD, the correct Ford front hub assembly is should be ML3Z-1104-M. There are cheaper alternatives from the aftermarket, but the cheap ones often don't last very long.

The front wheel speed sensors for a 2021 XLT 4WD are ML3Z-2C204-L

Thanks. I'm going to put the cheaper hub from rockauto in and see how that does, and in the meantime look out for OEM ones I can get off a scrap truck or something. I'm just not willing to pay $800 for a wheel hub.

The genuine Ford hub assembly is under $300USD at many online retailers

I had what I thought was a bad wheel bearing (I turned left between 20-35mph and felt/heard a vibrating pattern". Turned out it was my transfer case (under warranty). Take it to Ford and haven them check it out. May not be what you think.

I mentioned above but I'm getting the code for right front tone wheel. Besides that I'm able to change into 4H and L and drive without incident so I'm thinking the transfer case should be fine, knock wood.
