Thanks so much for the information, i did do the sync 2 to sync 3 upgrade on my 2015 f150 and pruchased one preprogramed. I've only had the truck less than a month and with all the electronics am going to look at a warranty to protect myself but will keep your suggestion in my mind. Thanks again

I did get an insurance quote today for 5,000 36,000 miles or 7 years. I'm going to get it, i only drive about 3,500 a year. I'm not the kind of person to take advantage of anyboody so i'm going to contact ford and ask them why nothing was done about while it was under warranty and if i can't get any satisfaction (which i'm not counting on) i'll ask for a contact to buy one programmed and install it my self.

Because if the previous owner never realized there was a problem, there was nothing for the dealer to try to fix.

Did you ever get a chance to have a second set of eyes check out that it is programe

Everything looks good on the surface. There's just one little detail about how the module was programmed that for some reason is not showing in vehicle history that i am unsure about. Stand by while I get a second set of eyes to check and make sure everything is fine.

I had apim replaced because it was stuck and now I’m on 21146 which I think is farther then I was giving that the dealership programmed it correctly but not sure when I’ll start seeing OTA updates

Would love a check on my VIN - no updates in a while but was just in to the dealership and they did the CSP BlueCruise service. I see one new update 24-PU0223-VI-RBS which I don't think I had before but not change to SYNC version.

Can someone please take a look at mine. 1FTFW1E50MFA34297. I'm wondering if it is reporting charging issues again. It seems to really have a hard time cranking over and I'm getting odd warning messages from time to time. I've also been stuck on OTA's since I bought it in Nov 23. I see something came through the other day, but now I don't know what version I am on. This new update isn't reporting it.

Wait, do you have a Ford extended warranty or not? If so, I'm sure this will be covered. The difficult part will be to prove there is a problem.

It’s a third party extended warranty I purchased when I bought the truck. dealership help me prove something was wrong and after trying to update it and being unsuccessful they replaced it.
I’m on 21146 rev 145 but aren’t I still way behind?
Also if I spend the money on mongoose and fdrs will I be able to get current or will I still run into problems?

Oh, my bad man. Yea, you can update with FDRS. At work and I was mixing you up with someone else I thought was still in sync 20301. Still waiting on the guru to confirm you're good to go. Give me until Monday. I know he's been extra busy these past few days.

Mongoose is the way to go. Look at the Mongoose loaner thread in my signature and let me know if you want me to add you to the list to borrow one of mine.

Hello all. I am new here and don’t know much about updating vehicles. I have a 2009 f150 I bought used and is the newest vehicle I have owned. I am trying to understand what I need to do other than maintenance to keep the truck running good so please forgive me if I ask some stupid questions. Can someone please do a vin lookup for me?
