My 2023 XLT was broken into at a parking lot. The sticker says it has the Perimeter Alarm. The truck was locked and had my wife's purse in the front passenger side floorboard. The thief first attempted to break into the driver's side door. There are three small impact points (probably a screwdriver) but it did not give. The thief then went to the driver's side rear door and was able to smash it out. They pulled up the lock and opened the door. The thief then got in and opened the glove box (probable looking for a gun), then swiped my wife's purse and left.

Why did the alarm not go off? I didn't even get any message on the Ford Pass app. I tested the horn and sounds with a double click after the incident and they sounded, so nothing was cut. I just don't understand. The truck is in repair right now waiting on new glass, but when it is ready, I am taking it to the dealer to try to find out if there is some type of malfunction. I mean, the alarm should have sounded, right?

was perimeter alarm activated in your head unit? would check there first.
How exactly would I do that? I have searched every single setting in my head unit and there is no setting called Perimeter Alarm or any security setting for that matter. If there is no setting, but the sticker says it has it, then it should be automatically set by default. If there is such a setting, I don't have it.

I think your trucks newer, mines a 2022, but I do have a setting for that somewhere in the Sync touch screen. Can’t say exactly where it’s at but I’ve seen it several times.

Sadly even with alarm. Smash and grab and gone before anyone can get there
We need booby traps.

Yeah, I have went through every single setting on every screen. There is no security setting of any kind. Now, I have read if you have Perimeter Plus that there are settings like mentioned, but not for the basic Perimeter Alarm, which is just a standard default alarm with no settings. From my understanding. Either way, I have no settings related to security of any kind.

I'll look for that setting too when I get in the truck next. Could it have been a deleted item from the chip shortage?

Well then I’d be making a trip the the dealer if it stated you have it on your build sheet and you’re unable to locate it. That being said, in all honesty, I don’t know how good it is, even if you had it and it was activated. Not sure if it’s a cheesy system or if it’s the slightest bit effective.
Is yours a 400 or 401 package?

That setting only applies if you have the Advanced Security Pack which I believe only Lariats and above have.

I know this may sound crazy but do you leave a key fob or an extra fob in the truck and lock with the keypad? Many do this, especially when going to the beach or amusement park so they don’t lose it.
