What are you guys doing for storage for your misc. stuff like emergency equipment?

In my 2013 Raptor I have the Undercover swing cases on each side of the bed as the area under the rear seat has my rifle as well as a single subwoofer, and I wanted to try and retain as much interior space as possible. Since my 22 is a RCSB I was thinking of going again with the swing cases since they will fit under my tonneau cover. Also, they are out of the way otherwise and can easily be removed if you need the full bed.

Thanks!

I went with the "Decked" system with the Undercover SE Tonneau. Mainly for "security" from theft & water.

It IS "water PROOF"... not "water resistant" and someone would have to break into my cab, unlock the tailgate, pry open the Tonneau and pick the locks on the drawers to get to my valuables.

But the Decked appears (I didn't install it myself) to be in two separate sections, one beside the other and I'm planning to see if I can remove one side and have a full depth bed on one side with the security & convenience of the drawer on the other side.

I just haven't gotten around to it yet.

The cover comes off very easily in 15-min and the Deked is only secured by 4 bolts so it should come out pretty easily as well. With the cover off I have full use of my Bed Tie downs and the Decked can handle 1500lbs, so when I need a "full" bed, I can yank the tonneau and tie down my gear on top of the decked.

The drawers DO limit you to what you can put in your bed. My chainsaw just barely fits back there and forget about a gas can!

Removing one side would give me the best of both worlds. I might have to do some mods to keep one side secure w/o the other but if I pull it off, I'll post pictures...

One of the reasons I went with the RCSB is I have a tendency to suddenly find a bunch of useless crap stored behind my seats in my X-Tra Cab.

Now... I just toss that "crap" in the drawers...

I went the really basic route and put a couple of 22 gallon totes that I bought from Home Depot for $10 each and a cargo bar that I bought off Amazon for $40 to keep them from sliding to the back of the bed. I’ve had no issues with the bar moving with the totes loaded. Really needed the storage space since I have a regular cab.

When i had my '21 RCLB i used a Truxedo Deuce cover which i really loved. The front part (closer to the cab) had a separate opening that I used as a "trunk". It was highly functional and there are a few under-tonneau toolboxes that can sit, fully accessible, under this part of the cover.

In the time I had this truck and cover I never needed to lock this front part as no one knew it opened this way! I also really liked the bed access step I put on, it made getting into this part of the bed a breeze.

See attached picture. Hope this helps!

Ive always thought those Decked slide out boxes would be handy if you didn't need the full depth bed, but unfortunately I regularly do, so those wouldn't work for me. I've got some tall work boxes that I haul that I need the bed depth for.

I was actually thinking about doing this as well, but had another idea that I thought would work. Instead of using the ratcheting bar, what about just bolting some strong magnets to the bottom of the totes?

That seems like a really cool idea if you don't intend to use the full bed because of the toolbox in the front. Like you said, it would give you basically a "trunk." The thing is that I want to still be able to use the full bed without having to pull the cover and toolbox off.

Maybe if you combined the ideas of the front folding cover and the load bar and totes you could have the best of both worlds...

That seems like a really good idea as well. Would allow access to the totes in the front box, but could easily pull the totes out to have full bed length, or pull the totes and roll up the cover to have the full bed height.

I did this in my 2001 Ranger Edge+ and it worked great.... BUT, the bed floor was made of steel. Since I don't have my 24 yet, I don't know if the F-150's bed floor is aluminum or steel.

It’s definitely not for everyone.
