Truck has just under 1,700 miles and when I apply a bit of sharp pressure on the rear it clunks during the slightest of suspension travel. Our gravel driveway is quite smooth, we maintain it well but it sounds like someone is running down it with a wheelbarrow full of cinderblocks every time leave or come home.

Here is a video:

Any ideas what it may be?

This combined with an extremely creaky brake pedal (posted here) has this truck sounding older than my 35 y/o Jeep CJ.

I'll have to try this on mine. There is a clunking sound that comes from the back when I drive, for the life of me I cannot figure it out. I thought at first it was the rear seats or the seatbelts.

I thought since I got the larger tank it was fuel slapping around, it sounds muffled from inside the cab but it's persistent. It was until I tried rocking the back with my hand that I realized something is loose.

Can you please send over a message with your VIN and the name/location of your local Ford dealer? I would like to take a closer look at your noise concerns on my end.

My bed clunks like this as well, and I also thought it sounded like fuel. I'll have to take a closer look around sometime to see what that sound is even coming from .

I’ve already sent all of this for the creaky brake pedal post, I’d hope you have this as well for the damaged a-pillars at delivery. I also received a vm that sounds like a kid reading a scribbled post it note. Is this really Ford? The truck has many issues with multiple dealer visits in its lengthy 1 month life. He gives no context, I feel like I’m doing all the legwork just to get my new truck feeling and sounding like a new truck.

We are on a trip but just before we left I crawled under while my wife rocked it up down and it echos while under so I couldn’t pin it down other than it seems to stem from the left side. That said we were mid packing so I could only spend a few minutes trying to track it down. For sure I’ll get back under when we get back, now that I can reproduce it I hear it all the dang time on even the slightest of bumps. I’ve got the 36G tank, do you? Trying to find any commonalities.

I have max tow (36g tank, upgraded axle) and fx4. And the BAP dual exhaust but I doubt that makes any difference.

Just a quick follow-up on this. I never found the source of the clunking but after installing the Ford Performance drop shackles both sides are silent when I rock them. It adds to the mystery but at least its quiet on gravel etc.

Yea take it to the Dealer have them look at it. Or have someone get under it look to where it's coming from.
