Awesome build! I love the horn but dang, I can not get the electric motors to last!
The horn gets attention when needed! It was cheap in cost, but a pita to install because of the grill r&r and those stupid plastic clips all the auto manufacturers have been using for decades now. So changing a whipped pump will be a cheap pita.

After going up Moki Dugway and a LONG unnamed trail on BLM land, we ended up at McLoyd for a camp at a dead end.

Great build!! I wanted to ask you when on your overland trips did you really NEED 4 wheel often? I had a couple of small 4×4 SUV's and never really needed it (AT and MT tires) and I'm trying to decide if I should invest in the 5 grand in the 2024 single cab 6.5' I'm going to order. In your experience with great tires and a 3.73 locker would 2 wheel drive work 99% of the time? I thought a front winch might be the answer if I didn't go 4×4.
Thanks!

Four wheel drive was needed, not just for rocky and deep sand trails, but for the steep up and down in the mountains. More specifically Low Range Four Wheel Drive for control and lessening wheel spin. Much of what we did could have been done in 2wd, but not safely or risking breakage. We also did the 75 mile White Rim Trail in Canyonlands NP. Four Wheel Drive Low Range is Required by the NP to run that trail as well as camping reservations for the few camp spots there.
Two Wheel Drive will be fine for non-steep, non- sandy, no rocks, and no mud. I would not take a two wheel drive on most of the trails we ran.
I still need to catch up amd post more of that trip! We spen 4 hours getting past SOB Hill in Canyonlands NP with our three stock pickup trucks. Shoulda had my Jeep for that... Elephant hill was a challenge too.

I know your not talking to e BUT,I have a 2021 RCSB Fx4 in race red,5.0 10 spd,at,3:73 gearing the sticker on this truck was right at 45gs. I speced out a 2023 RCSB FX4 and the window sticker was 56gs. I was like WHAT. I looked at a RCSB XLT 2wd w 3:31 locking diff and it was $46,896. The price increase is rediculous. I I ever get another one at age 67 , it'll be and XL base. The 5.0 with 3:73 is a force to be reckoned with!

Rockman5159..Granger WILL sell you a 2024 XL single cab for UNDER $36,000.00 and out the door for under $38,500.00 ...That's a 2 wheel drive 5.0 3.73 locker,6.5' bed and privacy glass. That's what I'm going to order. I just want to make sure I do or don't want 4×4 for a extra $5,000.00 MSRP. I haven't asked Chip to price a OTD price for the 4×4 since I'm still considering it. Compared to 2023 XL trucks the 2024 base truck gives you the hitch, 12" screen ,cloth seats 5.0 and the locker standard. I consider it the best bargain in a 2024.

wow Maybe I need to check with them. IMO your spend more on the 4x4,but the resale almost makes up for all of the 5g. Id love to get the XL with 5.0 and 373 in 2wd woild make a helluva sleeper. Town And Country in Alabama are offering theRCSB XL 2WD with the roush super charger for a little over 46,000.Thanks for the tip I may check with Grainger. Are they in Iowa?

The 'Sleeper' concept is what first made me look at a new truck. I had a 2006 SRT-10 Quad cab for 3 years and ABSOLUTELY loved that truck! If you don't seriously consider buying from Granger I think you might be mistaken. Unbeatable price for a new 2024. With Fords new simplified ordering system the XL short bed so called 'work truck' is a amazing bargain. 5.0 3.73 cloth seats AND 12" Sync 4 screen..even a hitch lolol!
