Okay, some low-life tried to break through my passenger window 6 times with one of those hand-held, spring-loaded mechanisms. The good news here is that the window only spider-webbed every time and they didn't get in, especially as it was raining in a torrential fashion. Bad news is of course I need to get a new window. My deductible is $750, so not really sure that reporting it is going to do me any favors as an OEM window replacement on my 2021 XLT PowerBoost is just under that. A window that isn't OEM is $460. The glass guys say the cheaper one is the same, just not 'OEM'. I prefer not to see a big Pilkington or Safelite logo on the window, but also wondering it it would be effectively the same or not, whether or not the logo shows up.

Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks for the feedback!

I bought mine a few months ago…it had a a scratch on the driver’s side glass…I decided to buy one on eBay. It was less than $140 delivered and installation was a 20 minute job thanks to YouTube. Tint was dead on…it doesn’t have the same markings as the original but the markings it has are small and unobtrusive.

Looks like... but double check this... 2015-2022 is the same glass.

I’m not sure about Ford, but the glass Lexus uses is thicker to help with sound deadening. That’s why their OEM glass is more expensive.

Concluding this post, went with the OEM so I didn't have to get a 'Pilkington' advertising logo on it. Yeah, paid for it. Anyway, looking through Ford parts on OEMDirect(I think), and saw that I could have got the glass for this window for $265. Not sure how easy it would have been to replace, but hey, if you know, or there is a YouTube video....wish I would have thought of this sooner! Oh well. New window looks great.

Do you have a caliper? I'd be interested in learning if there was a measurable diff in the thickness of your driver side window and your passenger? Although that wouldn't rule out a difference in price due to more expensive glass material cost or some manufacturing voodoo that would make the OEM 'better'.

I measured the side glass that I replaced…around 5 mm..it actually varies a few hundreths of a mm across the top…I compared that to the replacement glass and found it to be essentially the same….maybe a few hundredths thinner….
