Pretty sure I just need the DSM to make it function other than the overlay.

Yeah, that's not how this will play out. There's a few people on here that know what's required, maybe they'll chime in before I'm done with my recharge session. You can't "just install the DSM". There's quite a bit more than waving a wand and you'd be cutting / splicing and replacing seat heating elements and still running wires between seats. It's as much work to add the DSM as it is to upgrade the seats to heated/cooled.

Im aware that there will be a lot of wiring to do. I have some great resources to help me out on my end. The DSM is the starting point that I will need so for $200 and some time it sounds a lot better to me than $1800 for AMP.

The bare minimum is basically performing half of the seat wiring, adding in the DSM, replace the driver's seat heating pads or hack the factory ones into the new lower seat harness (seat is coming out no matter what), rewire the the passenger seat's harness putting its heater onto the wires you run from the driver's seat. You're basically going to do the seat upgrade wiring leaving a few easy runs out, but doing everything else. You're better off finding some lariat front seats and doing the full thing. You can fire sell your factory seats and end up out of pocket ~$400 while adding cooled seats not having to hack up anything. Not sure what's available right now, but takeoff lariat new leather can be had for ~$200 if the seats you locate aren't up to par.

I know where a like new set of lariat seats are with new leather on them.

I do not want leather. Wonder how it would perform if I swap out the cloth skins on to them.

I have a set of XLT cloth, curious how the airflow is. I'll have to locate them and see how the airflow is.

If it is just ok at best that could still save me the tearup on the XLT seats. Thanks for the info.

I'm guessing it'd be viable as there is some air flow possible and the cooled seats 'suck' air in so it'd likely at the very least be able to remove the heat at the body/seat interface which is what modern seats do. The experience of the cooled seats is more like that cool feeling you get when you sit on seats that are room temp and they just never heat up. When you're hot it prevents sweating by continually pulling air into the seat. I'm out for a while, remind me if I forget

I just measured and the Lincoln boards wont fit. I could probably modify them to work but bolt pattern is different. SWB might be closer.

We have a harness coming soon for XLT to add power boards all plug in. I decided to make one for F150 and 23 up super duty.

The only requirement for the harness to be fully plug in is power driver seat. Otherwise you have to grab power and ground.

So no module change for the DSM?

I kinda wondered about that due to the differences in the the wheelbase. I imagine the four stud bolts line up the same, but navigator boards are spaced closer together?

Since you have a XLT you would of course need the high spec DSM along with new driver seat harness to go the route I did.

It has more to do with that on the Nav/Expidition the boars sit flush along the whole bodyside. Wheelwell to Wheelwell. I measured the wrong wheelbase. Long looks like it matches on the bolt pattern. I think the board itself would have to be shifted down on the attatchment brackets.

As for the lighting it looks from the schematics that it splices into the puddle lamp circuit in the doors so that could be a pretty simple add.
