I picked up my PB XLT sport the other day with 15 miles on the clock. Everything in great shape, minimal rust on bottom of third member. Drives really nice, all functions operate wonderful as I learn them, comfortable seats and good fit and finish. However after driving around yesterday, a noise started coming from the front area of the engine compartment while driving and seems to come and go at certain speeds (8-18) MPH. Doesn't matter if its on battery or engine and comes on at deceleration, acceleration or coasting., so it doesn't seem like driveline related. Noise sounds really kinda weird like possibly a fan motor but is not high pitched, kinda like a low rumble. Strange that its speed related if its a fan thou. So its into the dealer on Monday..
Sounds somewhat similar to what I was experiencing. Took it back to the dealer and they said a dust shield got bent out of place. 5 minute fix and they even topped my gas tank off.

‘The first week I had my truck, I experienced a few of the issues I’ve read on here as well. It made me very unhappy that I traded in a perfectly good 2013 F-150 Platnium for what I felt was just simply lower mileage. I understand new vehicles have their quirks, but I also feel like our local Ford Service Dept really could care less about my concerns when I brought them to their attention.

* Secuirty Alarm going off randomly about 5 times per night. I have to turn off the interior motion sensors to keep the neighbors happy.
* Bed rail caps are warped & poorly assembled (replacements supposedly ordered 6 weeks ago... no word from the dealership)
* Rear passenger widows won’t roll down, both sides
* Sync display screen shuts off randomly while driving down the road

‘There are many features on this truck that we haven’t even tried yet. Partially because we haven’t had time or the places to check them out. But mostly, because I don’t want to know what else I’ve paid a hefty amount for, to have it not work. I DID fill out the survey Ford sent me & let them know I wasn’t very happy... crickets.

The only issue I've found so far on my Platinum PowerBoost is the headrest and overhead speakers are not working. Contacting the dealer on Monday.

Thanks mrtrv, I will let the service folks know what others have found for the noise.

mrtrav, I took mine to the dealer yesterday and they cant find the reason why mine is making noise. It only happens while traveling between 10 and 20mph. sounds like a fan rubbing on something. They are just about saying its normal. It aint normal as I have driven other powerboosts. Did they say what dust shield and where? thanks for any help you can offer. The dealership has no other units to compare to. Mine must be the first one they have seen at this dealer.

Mine was the front driver side wheel well where the rubbing was happening. The noise was most noticeable at slow speeds, likely because there was less road noise. But I could hear it at freeway speeds when there were opportunities for echos (high center divides, tunnels, etc.). My dealer said when they tool the wheel off it was very apparent what the issue was. Maybe because mine was bent so far out of place, or it's a different issue altogether.

My only issue after 3 weeks of ownership:

When I try to change the Spotify playlist while moving it crashes (Spotify does, not the Infotainment or applecara play). If I am stationary it works fine

I have to take my Platinum in because the head rest speakers and over head speakers are not working. That is the only issue so far.

Well... I'll jump in here too.

Brand new F-150 Screw XLT 302A (150 miles and 4 days in)

Instrument cluster NAV directions time-lag center info screen in an ever-increasing delay... (e.g. Nav is 3 turns and miles behind on Instrument cluster while perfect on center screen, gets longer as you go).

Instrument cluster Audio info lags update by same time lag as NAV. (e.g. - it shows a song title that played minutes ago)

Clicking "Phone", "Audio", "or "Navigation" instrument cluster menu items only open after 30-45 seconds or more using steering-wheel buttons. Other menu items seem mostly ok... haven't tried all the submenus yet.

Dealer performed "hard restart" - a highly involved procedure of unplugging it and plugging it back in (the battery). No help. Lag was there on restart. Beginning w/ a few seconds and increasing all the way home.

Anyone else w/ instrument cluster wonkyness??

How many issues or how severe would an issue have to be for them to take your truck back and give you a new one?

My wife said the 12 inch sync screen locked up on her, but it cleared up by itself after a few minutes. Had a couple of minor scratches in the paint but the dealer took care of those.
Lane centering went crazy once, it would drift all the way over to the right line and then drift all the way to the left line and repeat. It only did it the one time. Hasn't done it since. Maybe because of the light rain we were having that day??? Overall very pleased with the truck so far but only have had it a few days. Love the fuel mileage so far. Averaging 22.1 mpg with 5.0 motor and 3.31 rear end and it's probably not even broken in yet.

worth a shot, but go into your stereo settings and make sure surround sound is on! Default is stereo--
