I purchased my 2021 F-150 KR, Screw, Longbed with PowerBoost about 5 weeks ago. I wanted to post here with all the issues I've observed - some of these issues I've seen other members post about and others not.
First major issue I had was at 350 miles when the transmission coolant line busted. Dumped all my coolant on the 10 mile drive to work. What a great way to start the day! The technician noted that the coolant line was not routed properly from the factory and was rubbing against the engine - this caused the hose to fail.
The truck is currently in the shop with the following issues noted: (Still only 1400 miles on the odo.)
1) Another coolant leak. This time it appears to be coming from the little heat exchanger on the exhaust pipe - right below the B-pillar. Fortunately, this leak was slow enough that I could continue to drive the vehicle as I wanted for the dealership to fit me in. (The back log in the dealerships is out of control!)
2) Multi-contour seats do not retain lumbar support position between drives. They always go flat. The seats do remember position, but not lumbar support settings. I tried re-saving to the number pad on the door and to "My Profile" from the infotainment system without luck.
3) Gauge Cluster MyView resetting. I also noted that it seems to also reset my saved navigation locations - like home and work. I noticed that when MyView resets, the parking brake comes on. At least the truck gives me a warning it reset itself!
4) Paint on the tailgate was damaged in shipment. The chamfered edges around the release button were pretty baddy scratched - like someone put a tarp over the bed and drove across country.
5) Infotainment screen will randomly switch screens. For example, I'll have CarPlay up with Spotify. Then it will switch to the Clock Settings page.
6) Sensitive collision avoidance system. A common false alarm occurs when I'm driving in the right-hand lane and someone in-front of me turns into a drive way. They'll be clear of the road and I'll be 75 yards back and it will trigger the beeping and flashing on the dash.
A number of these issues are software related. I'm curious to see how Ford will support their ever expanding software portfolio through their dealer network. Software requires a different approach from wheels and brake pads.
I'll keep this thread updated as thing progress.
