What is a DRL forescan mod that makes LED's brighter?

I guarantee Consumer Reports was not reviewing Ford LED headlights.
See here: https://www.f150gen14.com/forum/threads/drl-led-bar-brightness-boosted-using-forscan.7091/

you need: a laptop, Forscan software ($20?), Forscan cables ($35?) - read above - be careful.

Write down or take a photo of stock values BEFORE you change anything. You can brick (no start, thousands to fix it if you are not careful and get carried away changing lots of things at once)

Retired and not looking. I am driving the wife crazy.
Everything I read about Foreskin makes me think professionals should be doing the alterations. Not withstanding that, your modification looks good but I would worry about night glare with oncoming traffic.

No need to upgrade those IMO. They work phenomenal I am sure. My old GMC truck had reflector LEDs too and they were very bright as well. No complaints.

Take a look at your DRLs after you brighten them. They are blinding at night when they are turned up. I tried it and undid the changes due to their brightness.

I concur - any foreskin alterations should be left to a professional.
How about my attempt to post some sharp levity into the discussion.

I have done some driving with them. I'm not sure if it was consumer reports or who it was but they gave the F150's a C or D in lighting. The halogen were rated extremely poor but they weren't impressed by the LED. They seem to be ok, I felt my 21 Explorer Platinum were better but it could just be me.

I started a new job and will be driving more at night. I definitely want bright lights but I also do not want to blind people. lol
you probably saw the ratings from IIHS. the only way to get an A in their system for lighting is if you have dynamic/bendings headlights. a B is projector style headlights which has a auto level system. everything else is below. it doesn't necessarily mean your light output is bad though. just a safety rating where bending lights are safer because they bend.

Yes, that is the report.. I’m glad you were able to clarify for me. When I bought it, I was like “oh great” I have inferior lights and it’s going to suck driving it at night.. I do feel my 21 Explorer Platinum had

thank you for the info. That is where I saw it. I was like oh no these headlights are going to be way worse than what I am used to with my 21 Explorer Platinum. I think it had adaptive projector LED’s. I just want to be able to see as good as possible without blinding other drivers.

XLTs get the reflector LED headlight assembly. Lariat 500A and 501A also get the reflectors. The Lariat 502A and trims up from that get the LED projectors.
Thanks for the info. I noticed the Fuelly link at the bottom of your message. Is it a paint to input the data at every fill-up? I have started using Upide for finding better gas prices. Just wondering how much extra time this takes you so that you can get good reporting?

It's easy and takes a few seconds via their app. I just have to remember to verify the odometer before I shut the truck off.

It seem affordable to get all of the features for about $8 bucks a year.. Thanks for the info.
