i feel like I got the button working by switching to a super duty (it is selectable now and highlighted red) but turns out I bought the wrong clockspring and need the whole assembly with turn signal stock not just the actual clockspring

Good deal, you won't have the side card like you would on the 12", but I wondering if just changing it also enables something so that the HSW button will work no matter where it pops up at. You "should" also be able to enable the climate button on the 8", not sure if you tried in the past or not, but it would show up like it does in older vehicles where it shows on the screen.

Yes... for about the millionth time in the this thread, you need the whole SCCM assembly part, not just the clock spring.

Eh, if you have adaptive steering its not going to be pretty, or cheap to get heat back. There have been a few others in this thread in the same boat as you, but not sure if they ever went through with it or not. Since you have a 23, you might just fall under upgrade TSB that just came out, it's a short list but might as well check since you have a limited. When was it built? If between 9/22/22 and 3/29/23, you might just be in luck if your VIN is on the list and could get it added for free.

ML3Z3F791DD is the SCCM for adaptive steering, but I wonder if in you case the clock spring is already the right one or not, next thing to check would be in the wheel is equipped with heat or not also.

Actually I tried that today and was able to get the button (and it’s able to toggle to red this time after I also enabled the truck to super duty type)

I plugged a cable into my BCM and grounded it and it blew a fuse today so need to diagnose that. I didn’t realize that when I plugged it into the back of the SCCm it wasn’t actually plugged into anything so there must be a short somewhere in the wire harness. Needless to say I found out the hard way that I need the whole assembly..

@tony72cutlass's' try this also if you want, at 7D0-02-01 xxxx xxx* xx-- try to enabled the climate domain option and see what that does, remember to cold boot reset the screen also to get any changes to show up. That should enable the climate button if I remember right, but it's been awhile since I messed with that.

Press and hold the power and next track button until the screen goes black, or the APIM module reset operation in Forscan.

Guys, I've read so many pages and different threads and am at a brick wall. My head is spinning. I installed the SCCM, power wire to pin 15 on the BCM plug & ground, the HSW, and HVAC panel. I've loaded my "As Built" to all three, and I've "enabled" HSW setting in APIM, SCCM, & IPC.
Everything is working on my steering wheel, dash, HVAC controls. Everything BUT the HSW button on the HVAC!
Any thoughts?

The HVAC didn't work at all until I loaded my "As built" and now everything but the HSW button works. I don't see any programming info on the Forscan spreadsheets for HVAC. Am I missing pages?
I have a small list of changes someone sent me that they used but they had a 2023 Lariat with different options and I've got a 2021 XLT 302A. I tried some of their HVAC codes but none worked. Do you have any info?

Some news for the 23 gang that had a truck build with the less heated wheel option on the sheet. I finally checked mine and it is prewired to the SCCM which is awesome, because running wire is the hardest part, so just need to swap components, program and I'll be in business.
