There has been much discussion on the amount of charge the computer system puts into the 12VDC battery. I recently put a Voltmeter on my truck. What I'm seeing closely mimics the expected voltages if it were a flooded cell battery. In other words, my take is that the 12V battery is kept right about where the electrochemistry would call for it when on float. I see about 15.1VDC on a cold morning start up (eg temps at about 30ºF). It declines to around 14.x as things warm up. It finally plateaus around 13 VDC (Specifically 12.9 to 13.2VDC). These readings are right where they would be for a flooded cell battery being returned to 100% charge. We should note that the chemical potentials are exactly the same because the lead acid chemistry is the same in either a flooded cell or AGM cell battery.
