Some guy who works at some large Ford dealership in Alabama is claiming that there is a commodity restraint on 5 liter engines. Can anyone validate this?

Only curious as I ordered a truck yesterday ?

I’m betting he’s misunderstood an ordering deadline, like “all SuperCab 5.5 bed 5.0 X-Y trim level orders must be placed by Z date for 2023MY.”

I mean given the stats on the mustang orders, this might actually be true. Ford shouldn't have like 6 different F150 engines. The 2.7, 5.0, and 3.5HO should be the options with the 2.7 bearing the hybrid.

Saw this on another forum but it didn’t mention anything about engines.

A bigger worry is it's looking like a UAW strike is coming, they have come up with some crazy demands like a four day work week and 40% raise over the next five years. The Big 3 are working lots of overtime six days a week to build inventory.

Just means his dealer doesn’t have the pull/allocation to order them. Not an issue for others.

Just going to chalk it up to a scare tactic for some reason.

Screw that guy.

what they need to offer is a regular cab LARIAT , short box with all those bells, captains seats, sync 4

5.0 and 3.73 rear gears with limited slip. just saying thats a screamer out of the box

They did, years ago, sorta, it was the first debut of the Tremor! It had all the bells and whistles. Ecoboost 3.5, 4.10 axle ratio. Bucket seats (alacantra leather), console and shifter, short box, 4x4, black 20-inch wheels with all-season tires
Debuted in 2014. I can't recall, but I think they only made in one year (reportedly only 600). It was the nicest Regular Cab you'd ever want. they were around $46,000 for a fully loaded 4x4
