I am very happy to contribute for you time via Venmo if you can answer my questions—whenever you have a chance.

I purchased my 2021 F-150 on 1-27-21. VIN 1FTFW1ED0MFA57991. Waited well over a year. . . but finally received an OTA update with BC. It worked reasonably well—but had the known issues. Then I started hearing about all the BC improvements that Ford has been touting with BC 1.2. Then I received a notice in the mail saying take my truck to Dealer for update 21G01 — which I assumed was code for BC 1.2. I took it in and got it back last week. I went for a test drive on the interstate to try the lane change and other new features I’ve read about with BC 1.2. Alas . . . I can’t tell any difference. No Auto Lane Change , nor the other 2 new features (unless I’m doing something wrong). Here are my questions:

1. Please run my VIN and tell me what you think. What version do I have. How close am I to being current? How close am I to having what’s needed for BC 1.2?

2. IF update 21G01 doesn’t come with BC 1.2 . . . What’s the purpose? Is It any better than the BC I received OTA?

3. What is your Venmo (again)? Thank you.

Hey Y'all, first post and looking for some guidance. Bought my truck used in January, pretty sure it's A job 1 truck based on the other forums I've read and I don't think Sync has ever updated. I stumbled upon another thread when looking into why I couldn't set automatic updates which triggered me to reach out to my local dealer. I have been back and fourth A few times asking for updates and for A while they were no help. Two weeks ago I finally got A service agent who gave A S**** and after 8 days without A truck I am the proud owner of A new APIM. The dealer claims that I "should" now start receiving OTAs again but up to this point, nothing. Ford Pass is no help either, on the App it states I am "up to date", when I go to ford.com and search my vin It reports an error, requesting I check back soon and has been that way since the new APIM was installed. I called the OTA team this morning and the rep told me to set my auto updates to 1am on A weekday and after 30 days if I still don't receive an update they can escalate the case.

Im desperate hoping you all can help (rapidly approaching 36k miles), now that I have A new APIM and am able to set automatic updates, will I actually start receiving them or am I going to have to continue to fight the dealer and/or go the mongoose route? Any help is appreciated!!

VIN for reference: 1FTFW1E81MFB55091

Can you see what is going on with my continual failed 4.3.2 update? It has failed 5 times now but my sync screen says it is already on 4.3.2 for some reason. My VIN is 1FTFW1E13MFB77676. Appreciate it!

Hello everybody!

Can someone please take a look at my Vin and see if there are any updates pending on FDRS?

I haven't hooked up FDRS to my truck in a while since it seems to have gotten out of ota limbo.

Vin is 1FTEW 1EP4MFB 11492

Thank you!

Hello! New member here. I have a 2022 XLT I just picked up a month ago and I’m looking to get the full-screen carplay but I can’t seem to get updates to trigger. Mind looking at my VIN?

Based on your current Sync version, your truck seems to be fine with the OTA process. You got 4.2.1 three days ago. You are not fully up to date, but the updates you are missing do not give you anything new, so you're good to go.

I'll try not to overwhelm you, but there is no short version. Your truck is very out of date. However, it is getting updates, which is good. The last OTA your truck was sent was 2.8.1 back in April and it failed to install from what seems to be the previous owner being naive to the OTA process. That particular update requires the truck to be parked and inhibited for over an hour while it installs. In many cases, this particular update fails due to the battery dropping in voltage during the install process. It is highly recommended to have the truck connected to a battery charger when the update starts. It is very likely the previous owner never had auto-updates scheduled, because when the update was sent, the truck downloaded all the files but it never tried to install the update before it timed out. OTA attempts will remain active for two weeks before they time out if it does not install in that time frame.

What I recommend you do, is schedule an appt with your dealer and tell them your truck is behind on updates and you do not have Bluecruise. Reference "Optional Product Improvement Program 21G01 for Bluecruise programming". They will need to keep your truck for a few days to perform the module updates to get you up to date.

Or, you can buy (or borrow) a tool needed to perform the updates yourself.

Or, you can turn auto-updates on and wait for the rest of the updates to be sent to you.

For many reasons: I would highly advise against waiting for the updates to be sent to you. Ford's OTA process is hot garbage. And if the Ford account comes in here asking you for your VIN to help you, you can ignore it completely. You are more likely to get help from the bag bog in your local grocery store than from them.
Ended up leaving the truck with the dealership overnight late last week. I appear to now be on the latest version of Sync I believe(as I do have blue cruise and full screen android auto), but the ford pass app and website continues to swear I still need Power Up 2.8.1...

That's fine. It will take a while for everything to sync up with Ford's servers. Glad to hear! What Sync version does your truck say it's on?
