I think it is highly strange that we are here in mid June and still haven't heard that much about the upcoming 2024s. WE have seen a few pics of the refresh, but does anyone know information like color options, are deletes like massage seats carrying over, when do the order banks open? I feel like by the this time last year, we knew that Hot Pepper Metallic, Avalanche, Area 51 and Azul Gray would be 2023 colors. I havent heard anything about what colors will be available on 2024s. Perhaps some of you know what cool options await...

idk when we typically get to know about what's next in terms of previous refreshes, but I feel like it has to be real soon given the order banks are probably in their final days. I don't expect much except for less features and a slightly changed grill. I think the cover is mostly off on the new taillights shown on the Raptor. Pretty silly squeezing some previous gen styling elements into the gen 14 housings.

Given the spy photo leaks and lack of other information, my guess is we will see instrument panel changes and new tailgate. I think the big announcement was a major reduction in parts count. That will be a big deal but largely of no immediate value to customer. Given inflation there has to be a big price increase.

For my part I would like to see a hybrid with a bigger battery. Current battery does not seem to recapture all the energy available from regenerative braking.

Probably won't see any PB hardware changes until next complete overhaul due to them wanting to recoup investments and scale it out to reduce supply costs in addition to no real competition currently in this space.

Sounds right. Is there even room for a bigger battery without major structural changes?

Order banks open September 13th according to "Johnny's Car Care and Reviews" I am hoping a refresh will find suitable replacements for the mandatory deleted items.

Don't know what an SME is, but turbopilot is far more knowledgeable of these kinds of things that I am.

But I do think the phrase "bigger battery" is a huge oversimplification of the way the Powerboost Hybrid Battery is packaged. The enclosure is far more than the battery itself. A very sophisticated assembly of various components that are tightly integrated within that enclosure. Including water coolant routing passages.

While the truck itself probably does have room/space for Ford to have gone with a larger "package", had they desired to, I don't think it's feasible to retrofit a larger battery, or an additional battery.

Actually the battery cells themselves are underneath what you see with the lid off the enclosure.

It's only a fraction larger than the Maverick if the Maverick is 1.1 KW

From underneath, you can see the coolant passages. Coolant line in/out connectors on the right side.

Fresh off of 2,000 miles pulling around a 7,300 lb trailer and watching the hybrid battery recharge going down big mountains in the West. So much of that energy used pulling that trailer up the hill seems to be lost as the small hybrid battery quickly tops off going down the hill. It would make a big dent in that MPG dropping from 24 to 12 pulling around a trailer, particularly in hills and mountains.

the maverick has room for 2 batteries its the same as in the escapeeee
wonder why they didnt do that with the 150? now you have the brain thinking again
maybe shorten the bed a put a bed width battery in the space between cab and bed
put a 5.5 on a long bed truck???
