Recently I’ve been getting a weird mold smell, thinking it would be something to do with the AC I figured it was just that. I pulled the rubber liner for the rear and noticed moisture and mold. I did some research on this forum and seen it’s a pretty common issue. I have an appointment today, we’ll see what Ford has to say.

This might be the same issue I had on my truck, 2021 XLT. The dealer told me its the rear door panels leaking. It leaks in under the door panel into the carpet.

At the same time, ask them to check your sunroof drains, unrelated to the rear but could cause leaking in the front drivers side above the dead pedal.

Hope that helps!

At first the service writer seemed to think I had added an aftermarket 3rd brake light because of the camera. He hit me with a $229.99 service rate to find water leak. I assured him it was stock and he didn’t believe me at first. He then realized it was stock and wrote it up as a warranty type of invoice. I had to make arrangements since they couldn’t drive me more than 10miles away. Had to figure out alternative vehicle arrangement. Normally I would mind the mild set backs but I recently got my shoulder surgery(rotator cuff reconstruction). Later that day they called me let me know they could not find the leak. Today they called me to tell me they found the weather stripping on the roof had hardware that was not from factory. They are assuming it’s that. They are to order parts and schedule a glass guy to remove the rear window to get to that hardware. It will definitely be at the dealer for a week or 2 from what it sounds like. We’ll see how it goes.

The drivers side is completely dry. I pulled the door kick panels off and lifted the carpet on all sides of truck. The passenger side rear carpet was soaked in water and had Odor already, passenger side front had little moisture but no smell.

PM’d thank you for reaching out! Really makes all the difference! I just hope they help me address the mold and not “brush it under the rug” ?

ok so make sure there’s no mold that spread anywhere else. I noticed mold on the headliner because of how long it went unnoticed.

I’ll most likely pull up to the dealership sometime during the week to double check the roof liner. Thanks
