Carpet Issues

Howdy all,

Has anyone else had carpet issues? Specifically, the carpeting on both the front driver and passenger flooring is coming up, looks terribly unfinished. Took it to the dealer, they kept the truck for 3 days and told me Ford said it was supposed to be like that and fixing it wasn't covered under warranty.

Mine looks like that under the seats. It’s not noticeable unless you are looking under them.

Here are my driver and passenger sides for a point of reference. Nowhere nearly as bad as yours.

Nothing normal about that! Blades can only make a clean cut X amount of times before they need to be sharpened or replaced. The individual responsible for supervising the machine that cuts the carpets must have zoned out or taken their bathroom/coffee break when your carpet was being cut. Ford should have trimmed the excess uncut material before installing the carpet in your truck.

It's not just an aesthetic issue, if one of those yarns gets into one of the pedal assemblies it's a safety issue. The yarns could also potentially clog the heater core/evaporator coil as well as the blend doors in your HVAC system.

The service department at your dealership is filled with a bunch of losers if not a single one thought about going in your truck with a pair of shears and a vacuum cleaner during the three days they had your truck. It might have taken a maximum of fifteen minutes.

Get some EMT shears and do it yourself, then never return to that dealership for anything ever again, since they have proved themselves useless in an embarrassingly simple situation that they had three days to remedy.

Mine looks about the same as the other photos in this thread.

I feel like had they kept another 2” of material on it wouldn’t ever be visible (unless crouching down) but as it is it’s something I see every time I get in.

Oh well, once I get good floor mats it should be covered… maybe Ford is thinking most people do that anyway so why bother.
