You last Power Up OTA was 2.6.0. Your truck is very behind in updates. However, you have gotten updates recently including several priority updates, so your truck is fine. Ford rarely pushes out the older updates you need, so you just need to be patient. There is nothing wrong with your truck.

As far as OTA updates go, you are only missing 4.2.3 and 4.2.4.

Are any of the 4.2.3 or 4.2.4 updates available for my truck in FDRS?

Could some please check VIN 1FTFW1ED7NFC16877 for updates in FDRS? I recently received power up update 4.2.3, and was wondering if that queued anything in FDRS.

2.8.1 was sent to you twice. The first time was back in January. Your truck downloaded all the files, but you never initiated the update to start and it eventually expired. I am assuming you didn't have an auto-update time scheduled on your truck.

The second time it was sent to you was 5 days ago, and it failed a few days later. The error code in PTS says "master reset". Did you do a Sync reset on your truck two days ago? Did Fordpass ever alert you you had an update pending?

This update requires the vehicle to be parked and inhibited for about an hour and a half while it installs. This particular update is notorious for failing due to low battery voltage. If you do not have a battery charger, get one as you will need it if you want this update to install the next time it is sent to you. After you get this one, the following update is 2.8.2 which will enable Bluecruise.


I purchased the truck just last week. While I was getting the ford pass app set up it printed me to do the reset I’m assuming to remove the previous owner so I was never notified of an update. I have set up the auto update schedule. So at this point I just have to wait for ford to send it again correct? Other than that the truck is working properly?

just one. The ACM is only if youre replacing a module.

Thank you for looking that up. You mentioned that the PCM is only for module replacement. How did you come to know that? I ask because I have not replaced my PCM. I have updated it a couple of times, but the update continues to show up in the list even though the update in the past appears to have been successful. A TCU update doesn't seem worth the price of admission since it seems operational.

So if you hover the pointer over them it gives you a little info on what it is. I have one for the ACM that just stays there as well.

Curious to see what mine shows. It has done 3 OTA updates in 3 days now! Wish one would fix the check engine light.

Anyone able to check FDRS and see what updates I have available? I’ve gotten 4.2.1 and 4.2.2 power ups and suspect 4.2.3 to arrive soon but just wondering if anything else could be updated before purchasing a license for the weekend.
