Ok guys im gonna post this out there. People with late build 22s, and now 23s this mod may not work for you. The gentleman I was working with was not able to get the 12v out of the BCM nor the LIN. So anyone with a late build 22 or 23 that has purchased a harness from me, ill refund your money if you send me the harness back if we cant get this working. you can still add the media bin/glove box but cannot add the ambient lights in the floor/cup holder.

Oooof -- guess it was just a matter of time before the parts were deleted.

A solution to this is to mod the harness to utilize nothing but media bin lights (in-place of floor ambinets) and tap the dimmer circuit (violet) (cup holder illumination is lost though). This is only a 2 pin circuit.

An alternative source is the 'yellow' illumination circuit that can be tapped at the rear media bin lamp, but it doesn't have dimming capability, just straight full voltage. I connected the front media bin lamp to my regulated power supply and its current draw wouldn't even register.

You continue to help a lot of folks mate! This time preventing a lot of time and frustration. Really appreciate your knowledge and guidance through several of these mods. I was considering tackling this mod with spring coming to the frozen north but sounds like I have to pass. My truck was produced end of June (2022 job 2)? Due to the weather haven't checked for the connector types under passenger and driver footwells.

Should have had a job 1 truck as ordered in Jan so 5 months to produce and then had to wait 3+ months to receive it due to flickering lights hold (btw my lights still flicker so will be returning it once the real fix is ready)

Mines a job 2 August build and John’s mod worked for me so I’d think it would work for you.

Ok great. Then the plan for mod is back on. So ford changed the build details later in job 2 production run. Unreal. Seems like that would have cost more than it saved.

September build here and it worked for me. Sucked that they removed it. Is this a physical change or could they send an OTA that disables it? I wouldn't put it past any car maker to shut something down solely so they can charge for it elsewhere.

@Jesse-Infotainment said they've removed a LIN bus in regards to the auto park system. The ambient lights are also on a LIN bus. Jesse may know for sure though.

The ambient LEDs won't work w/ out LIN, but you can use the little console lights on another lighting circuit like the dimmer. I put in LED strips in doors and rear under-seat tapping the standard dimmer (violet) circuit.

They added a new part number BCM. If you have that one as a XLT you are out of luck.

I told John the exact same thing that @HammaMan said. They are pulling Lin bus chips

They did it even one step more on the ipma now. They now have a 360 cam ipma that you can’t add front sensors to.

So what t makes sense they are pulling Lin bus chips when not included.

Ok, so after digging some more. The BCM is the same. Our issue will be in the firmware. They didnt go full stupid it seems.

To load firmware though is a real task. Can cause other issues. To try and support loading files is a real nightmare. You really have to know what you are doing for it. There are so many variables and combinations for different engine types.

So part number is the same but the firmware is different. I would have to test it to be 100% sure. I am sure though the BCM part numbers are the same though.

This makes a bit of sense I guess. Just didn't make sense to add another SKU cost which would negate any savings. Software is easier to implement though not sure what savings Ford is realizing. Must be savings somewhere.

Yeah.. Im not sure at this point. We will ahve to have some more testing.

Ford has made new skus for chips though. The IPMA now has Several versions only because of aone chip missing

So if you do updates via FDRS to the BCM could this break our current working ambient lighting?
