It sucks going down this road. Several years ago my wife got a new Chevy Equinox, the dang thing kept over heating...Dex-Cool sludge...you can read about it on the internet. Got rid of that thing after a couple of years. Bought a Nissan Rouge for her. Had to replace the onboard computer system, transmission went out...always seemed like something wrong with it. Then got her a 2015 Ford Explorer, didn't even have it a week and the back filled with water after a rain storm. The top wasn't sealed properly at the factory...then we started having the exhaust smell in the cab. Traded that thing in within a few months and got her a 2015 Ford Expedition. Knock on wood that thing has been solid since we got it. The only reason I considered another Ford after the Explorer was my 2007 F150...had it for 16 years just traded it in in December for a new 2022. The only issue I ever had with that F150 was the starter going out. I sure hope this new 2022 last that long.

Took me about 3 days to get used to the GMC gearshift. Now muscle memory has taken over and I don't think about it. I initially told myself I was starting the truck in "neutral" and up for reverse and back for drive. Don't even have to worry about park if you don't want. Just turn off and it goes to park. I've had all of the shifters and none have been difficult. Even reverse manual valve bodies on my hot rods.
It's easy for fanboys to discredit other vehicles with differences that become made up problems. I've had them all and I could own a Ram, Ford or GM truck. But, right now, I'm thrilled with my GMC.
Yeah I only had the truck for one day, we had it on a chassis dyno for testing and needed to be absolutely certain how we were controlling the transmission.

Not trying to be a fanboy, I'm sure the GM controls can be learned quickly. But IMO the "made up problem" is that there was anything wrong with a standard console or column shifter in the first place. All these OEMs decided that the standard shift pattern was a problem that needed to be solved, but their solutions are often atrocious and irresponsible. Just look at the Star Trek actor who got run over by his jeep because he thought it was in park, and it sure wasn't - same mistake happened to lots of people. Completely avoidable tragedy.

Ford approved my buyback 2022 Tremor 402a after being in the shop with multiple mechanical issues since day one. Purchased 1/7/23. Approved buyback today. Not sure what I'll purchased next but won't be another Ford.
How bad was the buy back process, going through a similar situation with MY22 Lariat Screw V8. Nothing but issues, 5th time back to dealer in 3,300 miles a little under 2 months

It has been a slight pain to deal with Ford at first, but honestly pretty smooth so overall so far. All the people I have dealt with have been kind and understanding. I am waiting to get called from the RAV rep for my repurchase quote, so we shall see how that goes.

I'm sorry to hear about your situation. I wish you had a different experience than you have. I completely understand your desire to buy a different brand. I'm getting close to that point as well. I've taken my 2021 Lariat Screw in too many times. Rear tires were out of balance from day one. It was so bad I thought my rear end was lose. It turns put the tires have to be balanced almost perfectly because if they're not the rear end will shake like crazy because it's so light. Next issue is the active air dam. That stupid thing works but rattles like hell and drives me crazy considering the truck was over $70k out the door. I've had the active air piece that moves up and down replaced, but the brackets that hold that piece are what's the problem and I'm tired of going back to the dealer. The latest is my door key pay which literally fell off and was hanging by the wires. No sign of anyone trying to break in. After being away out of state for work a week (truck in garage and no one drove it) I take the truck to meet up with a customer and while I'm driving down the road the key pad is flapping in the wind. I love the truck, but again I'm tired of going to the dealer even if the repairs a free of charge. I bought a new truck so I could avoid having to get it repaired all the time.

Please share the 'how to' of a buy back - how is it done & can you share a Ford corporate contact if you used one - thank you. And yes the last 2 years especially Ford has had far more complaints than any other car manufacturer.

For those asking about the buyback process look in your warranty manual that came with your car/truck. Instructions and contacts for the BBB Auto Line are there. The process is seamless so long as you have all your service records. If you don't have your service records request them from the dealer(s) you've used for warranty service. You will need all records to file a claim. You don't have to involve your dealer service department at all to file a claim but make sure you qualify for a claim (laid out on the BBB site).

I've used the BBB Auto Line to achieve a buyback for two of my wife's cars, an Acura MDX and Mini Cooper Countryman. I also began the process with BMW but because of my loyalty to the brand over the years they provided me with a 7yr/100k warranty free of charge to resolve my immediate claim while also agreeing to buy back if issues persisted. Go figure the car ran without incident for 75k miles after all the initial problems. Just sold that car in prep for my F150.

Thank you and very interesting. My '23 Ford Lightning ER has a couple of warranty minor items but the big thing is the current total Lightning 30+ day shut down due to battery problems. It may affect my 12/15/22 delivery/purchase. Have you been paid back full MSRP or full cost for what you paid or is there a discount?

They deduct for miles driven but with both buybacks I was pleasantly surprised by how much I got back.

I was annoyed when my 2020 was being bought back, but it was more of a parts shortage issue than non stop problems. Ford made it very very easy to get another Ford. Full MSRP on a 20k truck, no mileage deduction and a stipend of sorts to get another Ford. Just keep in mind that there are some negotiations with RAV depending on your rep. Mine was great.

To edit since the guy above me said different. Mileage deduction depends on state laws. MN says no mileage deduction. RAV will follow state laws.
